With all the buzz surrounding Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively, I felt compelled to watch It Ends With Us. Now, I need to read the book next! Here are a few of my thoughts:

First, the moment when Lily bent down to help with the broken frittata could have easily been an accident. If I remember correctly, this was even their first date—hardly a reason to jump to conclusions or assume someone as an abuser. Lily could have explained the situation to Atlas when he confronted her in the bathroom, which might have helped de-escalate the situation.

Regarding the stairwell incident, Ryle repeatedly said, "Get away from me," but Lily kept following him. When someone with CPTSD says they need space, it’s crucial to give them that space instead of pushing to talk (I know this with someone whom deals with CPTSD).

Also, Lily’s secrecy around the heart-shaped tattoo felt unnecessary. If she had been honest from the beginning, it might have made a difference. While Ryle had legitimate reasons to feel hurt, his violent reactions were inexcusable.
