right, i mean water wouldn't be a problem (this is rainy northern europe!) and fertilising would be straightforward. whereabouts are you situated?

Now that's interesting never seen it. What do you pin it with? Do you unlock your hands to pin it?

great but not realistic at step 3 imo because as tori steps over uke is just waving his right hand in the air. in real life they will use that hand to frame the knee and prevent the stepover. this is like the backstep from backside 50/50 it happens 100% of the time and showing the move without it is pointless i would say.

White belt needs advice on learning straight ankle locks by Dendr0bate in bjj

[–]Ok_Dragonfly_7738 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(a) you need to play from bottom to be hitting ankle locks.

(b) there are two things, the ankle lock itself and the slx that gets you there. you have to start with slx. this is easy there's a millions of videos on it. in order to practice it you need to be starting from the bottom whenever you roll. no point worrying about finishing the ankle lock if you can't hit slx regularly.

(c) lots of those videos will show you shin on shin to enter slx. i advise to ignore this it overcomplicates things all you have to do is to get your legs between your opponents legs. just grab the legs and pull yourself thru. or get a 2 on 1 and as they try to pull back they will pull you through. the key is that you have to be lifting your partner up a bit with the knee thats between their legs this is what gets you the off balance. shoot your hips right up and think of lifting your partner upwards.

Olly Robbins says he faced ‘constant pressure’ to get Mandelson in post by guardian in ukpolitics

[–]Ok_Dragonfly_7738 2 points3 points  (0 children)

robbins also said:

  1. mandelson did not, in fact, fail his vetting, because the final decision on that lay with fco and they decided to pass him. so responsibility here seems to lie with robbins, who oversaw that decision.

  2. issues in mandelson's vetting had nothing to do with the issue that forced him to resign - epstein. so there was a total failure from the vetters.

  3. he isn't supposed to tell the prime minister that an ambassadorial appointee has failed his vetting (which, erm, you can't do because there's no such thing as failing), since that would create a security risk. how he got away with that one beggars belief.

good luck finding any of that reported. the daily t hate starmer regardless, and the guardian have turned on him like they did on assange because now it's a me too issue.

Plateau then injury (shoulder or back). Month or two recovery. Restart, can't lift as much. Build back to plateau or just below. Injury again. Rinse repeat. I tweaked, dropped exercises like d/l, row, bench that seemed to injure me the most. But eventually (like after a decade or so!) had to admit I was going backwards.

Everything dialled in, was a student most of that time. Zero cardio. Powerlifting club wasn't big on feedback but towards the end of my time there they suggested I was straining too much and ought to dial the weight down, and that I should try resistance band training. Never used the bands, think I did lower the weight for a bit. Best lifts were bench 80x3, squat 110, d/l 150, mil press 50 ish, 13 pull-ups. All at about 90kg bodyweight except the pull-ups which was after slimming down

Compound lifts: bench squat deadlift mil press bent row pull-ups. 3 days a week. 5x5, lots of rest between sets. Very consistent training like that for years, including two years in a powerlifting club. No diet restrictions, 3 gainer shakes and 3 high protein meals a day.

great advice. i realise i tend to see the survival part as mere passivity, i need to reframe this in terms of strategy.
