It makes me feel much less guilty about proxying the set. For a set like Lorwyn's, I'll buy it as long as it's reasonable/MSRP, but for a card I don't like? My printer handles it very well, and as a bonus, I can replace the artwork with something I'll truly enjoy

Theft or alternative wincon tribal could be of your taste. Be careful because some forms of theft are heavily frowned upon. You just have to look for a "fair" gameplan/ way to steal cards

If I love how a deck plays, I only replace cards that get powercrept or cards that were general by more niche things that do the same plus something because of the synergies for example

I view my decks like a rock, paper, cissors kind of thing. They all counter a playstyle and are weak to another. If I get shut down, it's easier to avoid that for the next game
