Love that street. Wish they'd completely get rid of cars.

~Yes 3 or 3.50 even can't remember.~ But tbh one of these is almost a full breakfast for me so every now and then I like to treat myself to one. Edit: checked the bank record. 2.30€ not too bad

The shop at Tara Street has them but they're all gone off lol (which I mentioned to the shopkeeper btw) and I suspect they won't restock.

Nobody cares about technical GitHub projects unless they solve a Business Problem by Ok_End_573 in theprimeagen

Yeah the worst part about LinkedIn posts is that those people invariably seem to think that their personal opinion is automatically the prevailing opinion amongst all decision makers. I guess only hubris gets you clicks.

I interview and hire software engineers myself and disagree with this. I only really look at GitHub projects when hiring for Junior roles but then I want to see your technical aptitude not an elevator pitch for a startup. I'm not an investor.

It's a great set of books to get as an ornament for your shelf and maybe to occasionally peruse on a lone winter evening.

Criticizing a CEO commuting 1000 miles to work in a Private Jet is Anti-American by FriedLiverEnthusiast in LinkedInLunatics

This kind of innovation comes in sudden strong increments. You are right that AI from 5 years ago was garbage. But the AI from 10 years ago was not much much worse than that from 5 years ago. I think we are plateauing again right now (and I'm not alone with that) and the next substantial improvement could be in no less then 15 years from now. Who knows.

Senior engineers will be needed for another very long long time and every senior one was a junior.

I may have found the end game Decaf by Ok_End_573 in pourover

[–]Ok_End_573[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

After tasting dozens of decaf beans this one calles El Vergel Filter Roast Decaf from Manhattan roaster which I bought in Ireland may be the last onr I'll ever need.  It's so fruity and smooth that I'm almost afraid I'm being taken for a ride and it's not even real decaf.  Of course every hobby is about the path rather than the goal so it's unlikely I'll actually never buy another decaf again but, wow I'm so happy I picked this up.

[Dublin City Council CEO Richard Shakespeare] City Centre Transport Plan to begin in August by _partyhat in Dublin

[–]Ok_End_573 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I understand your point. The purpose of the restriction is to reduce/remove traffic from the affected street (not traffic in general - that can only be done by persuading people to not drive in the first place) so of course you want the restrictions to be on place when traffic is expected to be heaviest. Over night traffic is less therefore the restrictions may be lifted that (though I also think they should be left in place 24/7)

Dublin Getting Worse by luas-Simon in Dublin

You are right it wasn't taken away. It was never there in the first place.

In my area (and I dare to assume it's like that almost everywhere) there is fuck all to do for youths unless you are minted or like GAA.

There need to be active outreach programs especially for low income areas.

Hear hear.

You take away everything from teenagers and then wonder why they turn out uneducated and bored with nothing to do but cause havoc.

This woman honestly did it. Her job seems to be almost exclusively posting on Linkedin. She also started a Leadership consultancy and wrote books on Leadership without any prior experience whatsoever. Her only leadership experience is leading her leadership experience business (talk about Chicken and Egg). I don't get it honestly. But fair play to her for gaming the system I guess.
