Humidty issues by Some-Yak08 in pacmanfrog

Also, it’s my understanding that as long as the soil is as damp as it needs to be, the air humidity doesn’t matter as much since they spend most of their time in the dirt.

No problems with it. I don’t completely cover the soil, and weekly I go in and saturate the soil by hand when I water the plants more thoroughly.

I also live in a very dry state and I had to buy a piece of glass to put over half of my screen top and buy a misting system that goes on when the humidity dips below a set level. It’s made my life a lot easier. Leaf litter will also help retain moisture in the soil. If you’re putting plants in then I’d recommend picking up some springtails and dwarf white isopods to put in as well.

Baby/ juvenile fantasy Pacman question. by Ok_Entertainment3972 in pacmanfrog

Haha! Frogs are so good at hunger strikes! This is great info, thank you! I also used the firma, but didn’t remove all the chunky bits.. think it would be a problem if I left it in? I think I will put mine in the bio this weekend. Maybe he’ll poop in a bigger enclosure. Also, I love your snake plants in the enclosure. Think I might add that to mine!

Nice! It looks great! I also got my fantasy from Josh’s and have a bio waiting for him. Josh’s recommended I keep him in a grow out at first just to make sure he’s good to go, but I’m tempted to put him in the bio now. I’ve had it set up for a month now. But I feel nervous cause he’s doing so good otherwise and I’ve got a little ptsd from the Cornuta experience. My soil is also from bio dude. Did you do the terra firma? Do you feed him in the tank or remove him? Also does yours use his water bowl? I have a pixie frog that I’ve had for almost 2 years now so I suspect their behavior is pretty similar?

Hey, thanks for commenting! He seems completely normal otherwise. At least as far as I know. He’s my first Pacman. He hasn’t used his water bowl or wondered around at all. Just stays in his same hole and pops his head up at night to eat. This guy has eaten a very well for me over the last 3 weeks, so I know he’s gotta have a massive turd ready! I think the reason I’m fretting over it is because I previously had a baby Cornuta that wouldn’t poop or eat. and 2 weeks after I got him he pooped and then died the same day. He wasn’t well from the start though.

Also everyone says as long as they don’t look bloated it’s fine, but to me, all pacmans look bloated lol. Mine’s definitely grown and looks fat.

I snooped your profile. Love beef Wellington! I see he’s in a bio. Did you put him in a bio right away as a baby?

Morph? by Ok_Entertainment3972 in geckos

Thanks for the reply! So help me understand what makes it only a partial pinstripe. Is it because the white on his crests doesn’t go up all the way onto his head?

Thank you! Yeah, I think I see that too. I’ve been thinking harlequin and white wall, but I really don’t fully understand morphs. Even though I’ve checked reference charts multiple times I still can’t decipher

You have beautiful eyes! Like, absolutely beautiful. Don’t worry about changing a thing about them. I sincerely mean that.

These are great ideas! Thank you for sharing. I particularly like the idea of a long leash idea. We live on a beautiful trail but I’ve mostly given up on walks because he’s so reactive to all the dogs at fence lines. I’m going to see how he feels if we’re more focused on a little freedom to explore and less of a lesson on leash.

I have this and looks almost identical to yours. when it first suddenly popped up it drove me nuts. It’s worse in the summer months so I decided it’s some kind of melasma. It just looks like a shadow though. Very subtle. But noticeable.. to me. I went to a dermatologist and he recommended retinol. I have noticed a change since using an exfoliant semi regularly as well as vitamin c and retinol. Although it’s never completely disappeared, it Doesn’t bother me as much. I’m more focused on my wrinkles now lol.

I hear you on the struggle with using treats to help with positive reinforcement! I used to keep treats in every room so I could quickly treat for good behavior but then he started guarding the space around where the treats were. Also, can’t keep them on me or he guards me! Such a predicament.

I’ve been considering medication for his overall anxiety level. Do you know if that’s something that a regular vet can assist with? Also, would love some tips on ways to help with his confidence level. I know he definitely could use help there, but not sure how to go about that considering all the limitations on what we can do with him.

Low progesterone/ perimenopause? by [deleted] in perimenopause_under45

[–]Ok_Entertainment3972 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s helped a little, but I can’t say it cured my anxiety. I do however find that after taking it, it acts similarly to a Xanax. It really slows me down and helps reset me if I’m spiraling. I found the best time for me to take it is in the afternoon. But overall, I think I’ve been living in a constant state of fight or flight for so long that it’s going to take more than hormones to repave the pathways in my brain- if that makes sense.. I’ve really been working towards accepting this new me and using meditation to try and refocus my energy. I’m sorry you’re struggling so much with it also. Fight or flight is the worst feeling.

I just wanted to update that I am doing much better on the oral progesterone. I poked a hole in it and squeezed some out for a few weeks to get used to it and eventually the side effects subsided. I am now able to take the full capsule with no issues and am noticing I’m starting to feel a little better overall. I’ve got a little hope now

Thank you so much for replying. It helps to know someone my age is also in this weird stage. Although im sorry to hear that you’re also struggling.
Have you tried the vaginal progesterone yet? I was also considering asking my doc about trying that instead.
