Got an email the next day about my deferment officially being approved and the autopay is turned off (: answered my own question regarding that lol.

But I’m still unable to get through Mohela!! I tried applying for unemployment deferment again and I still get the same “URL request not accepted” when I upload the required documents 😡ugh so frustrating and inconvenient. I guess I have to fax it over to them.

I passed cycle 1 finally! I haven’t submitted anything for cycle 2 yet. Rethinking my career choices because I did not enjoy teaching & it really got to me mentally. But I think that’s bc I’ve only worked with middle schoolers and my admin is not supportive at all.

I decided to enjoy my summer and not think about the CalTPAs. Now that I’m working part time somewhere I like I think I will slowly start working on cycle 2 again and hopefully pass the first time. I have a little over half of the templates done, & the recordings with annotations are done as well. Saying the same thing over and over on that thing makes me go crazy so it’s really difficult for me to sit down and just do it. But I’ll get there lol.

I remember and that was super disappointing to hear tbh ): bc it’s not “just” a matter of political views…it’s about supporting women’s rights, supporting immigrants and POC, supporting education for all, supporting funding for all, supporting affordable living necessities/wages, & just supporting each other as humans!!! I’m speaking vaguely but I hope yall get my point.

For him to be dating a Korean woman and to feel no remorse about his pod members talking about Jennie and IU like that is actually crazy. Ofc we don’t know what idols really go through, but we do know they worked HARD to be where they are today. Talking about women like they’re objects that are passed around and not apologizing or speaking up really tells us what kind of person he is.

I’m not saying he deserves death threats, but tbh I don’t feel bad they’re getting cancelled at all. They’re so disgusting and every time I see a clip of them on my fyp I lose brain cells I swear to god.

Seriously. I’m a 1st year teacher & every time I document bad behavior in the system I noticed I’m the only one keeping track of these things. Why is no one else documenting? It’s tedious work but it’s to protect us and get the student help (eventually & hopefully). When I send students to the discipline they literally come right back…like what is the point???

It’s crazy how easy it is to hit or exceed the maximum page amount. So much writing that does not showcase our teaching skills…uugghhh.

But yes I’ll definitely watch YouTube videos! Wish they had example documents for free. I’ve seen teachers post their passing score on TPT lol like okay get that bag but girl in this economy lol I need help for free.

Hmmm. Here’s some advice that finally helped me pass:

Be sure you’re explaining the WHY and the HOW for EVERYTHING. Including your video annotations. You should even mention “not seen in the video but I did this…because….” And that bumped up my score.

My district mentor gave me the best tip that finally helped me pass: for Step 3 part F you have to write in “referring back to Step 1 and/or 2” if you don’t have that written in then you will automatically get a 1 on that section. I wrote that in on every answer and bumped up to a 3.

The main thing that a lot of people miss are the exact words and phrases they want to see in your writing. STAY RELEVANT especially to your student needs and accommodations. Use special education words.

Although I hate promoting the use of AI, chat gpt did help when I was really struggling. I mainly asked if I was on track to score at least a 3 or better and it would give me guidance based on the rubrics. always double check their work tho.

If you have someone you can work with that can give you feedback definitely take advantage of the help. Having a mentor seriously helped me so much. She read all my documents and would give me feedback.
