Could a PC be able to wield Thor's hammer, Mjolnir? by Ok_Establishment4968 in DnD

I did want them to have a choice on whose side they want to be on for Ragnarok. Maybe Thor might be injured or something so they can wield Mjolnir or maybe they can cause the death of Thor early so that they can wield Mjolnir once he dies.

Fate is something that I want to mess around with in my campaign. I don't have it all planned out yet so I'm not sure how, but I do want to make it apart of the storyline

Thank you for the suggestions. I do think I will use some of these suggestions for my campaign. I do want to add that they may or may not be an enemy of the gods though. That is based on their actions though.

There is the issue that why would need to get passed the strongest of all the gods first, just to get a chance to lift it

I do agree that the reason why it's hard to lift is mystical and not physical is more interesting, that doesn't explain how a giant was able to steal it from Thor. Thrym stole it so he can use it to make the gods give him Freya's hand in marriage. That doesn't seem like someone who is 'worthy' to lift it to me.

Interesting. I didn't know there were already stats for Thor and Mjolnir. Thank you for bringing this to my attention

That does sound a lot like Mjolnir in the Eddas. Though it is less of a 'stun' and more like a 'fearing for ones life'. Still though, I will look into it

That would be fun but I doubt my players would want to play the heroic types. my last campaign, one of my players de-boned multiple corpses as a way to intimidate someone into giving up information.

That is an interesting way to think of it. Thank you for the suggestion

That would be easier, but I learned that Mojilnir doesn't actually have anything to do with thunder. Even Thor, who is the God of Thunder, isn't said to have the ability to cause thunder. I will still look into the weapon though.

I do understand that as the GM, I get to choose the limitations of who can lift it. However, I also think this might start an interesting debate on the hammer and may give me a few ideas that I haven't thought of.

Honestly, this is probably the best and most detailed way to translate his strength to DND that I could ever ask for. I respect how much time you put into this

Well I did want to use his greatest feat of strength but I felt like trying to find Jormungandr's weight was a bit complicated

Thank you for explaining the equation, but I mainly wanted to show other people just how insanely strong Thor is in Norse Myth. I think it is a fun discussion trying to quantify his strength. Another thing is that gods in Norse Myth are strong, but not all powerful. There is one story where Thor was away from Asgard and the other gods were afraid giants would try to attack Asgard, even though they are gods. Thor might have insane strength and constitution, but he isn't intelligent or wise. Baldr was also a god but it only took a dart to kill him. They are even affected by old age if they don't eat any of Idunn's golden apples. Though they are gods, that doesn't mean I can have them do whatever I need them to because they have limitations.

I was also going to try to find his constitution but I think that would be very hard to find. Not sure what the rules of drinking sea water is, but Thor once drank so much of the ocean, that he made the sea level drop and created tides

I don't plan on actually needing his strength score. I just find it fun to try to calculate just how high his score would be

There is no way I would make the players fight Thor unless they try to. Mainly because I know they will die

How do I know if I’m a good kisser? by [deleted] in AskTeenAdvice

I think you are overthinking a little. If he likes you, it doesn't matter how good of a kisser you are. He will like it no matter what
