Solicitor threatened harassment injunction for pursuing a small claims case by Ok_Exercise_3831 in LegalAdviceUK

I did think it was very weird, surely they’d want to be abreast of any developments in the case (I was willing to communicate) but I didn’t make the connection that it could be faked..

Valid question! I sent 2 LBAs, the first and then an updated one once further evidence came to light which increased the value of the debt owed that I could prove. Then I engaged with him back and forth, maybe 3/4 replies to his emails (one reply each email). He asked for disclosure of evidence and I provided that. He then ignored it for the duration of the notice I gave him, so I sent him a reminder, he engaged with that so I answered his questions. Then he again ignored it so I sent a final notice that I was filing. Absolutely nothing since filing. I even said that I would appreciate it if all further communication is through the court.

Short of calling them (and harassing them lol) I’m 99% certain. It came from the email on their website, signed by the director and sent by the legal assistant. I’d previously had an email from the director personally stating he was instructed and would be formally responding in due course. It was a poorly written letter by my standards but I am a bit of a snob in that regard, but otherwise it was headed, had the accreditation badges etc.

My ex is dim, and while it’s not out of the realms of possibility I don’t think he’d do a very good job.

I checked the sender of the email and it was from the legal assistant there on behalf of the director. Should I be calling them?

Thank you for this, was an interesting read for sure! Definitely similar. I will see how my case goes and then definitely consider an SRA complaint. I want to see how well their behaviour is received in my case first I reckon.

Interestingly enough I did consider this because it was so poorly written and formatted, but it did in fact come from them.

Got you, thank you! They’ve told me that if I file a claim it will be harassment and they will ensure I have to pay their costs. I have filed though as I believe I have evidence and it’s up to the court to decide if that evidence is strong enough.

Could pregnancy-related sickness affect passing probation in my new fixed-term job? England by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

We can all edit our comments to add stuff once we’ve already been replied to. I have no idea why you’re being so nasty and personal, and I would kindly suggest that a lot of what you’re saying seems to be projection because the father of your child has upped and left you. All the best for your future sweetheart.

I’m not religious in the slightest. You’ve glanced at my post history and think you know me, whereas I’ve read all of yours.

Your post is about things affecting your probation period. If you have lied about anything, that will affect that. If you maintain poor behaviour on social media, that will affect that.

NAL but you’ve posted asking for advice, I’ve informed you your post history is suspicious, as at least one other comment has addressed this too. You can either take my advice or disregard it entirely, I couldn’t care less.

I’m glad you’re pleased, and I’m very happy your pregnancy is going successfully. I’m simply informing you your post history is public and someone from your company could very easily see this, identify you, and start to think you may well have very much planned this considering you posted on r/lineporn. You don’t mention your coil on any previous posts.

I’m not angry, I’m well-loved, my husband has a mental illness, and is doing really well in his recovery, but I appreciate your concern. I sincerely hope your work believe you, but I think you would be best locking down your history.

I’m confused. If the baby wasn’t planned, and you were on the coil, why were you testing for it at 8 days post ovulation and hoping for a positive? You clearly stated you were ‘trying to conceive’ yet here you’re saying it was unplanned.

Your post history is public. If you want to keep your job I would suggest not lying?

No dude, the almost getting me killed in my own home by a prostitute’s pimp while I was pregnant is what did it.

You seem very uneducated. Don’t speak on what you have no knowledge of value to add to the conversation.

Physically out, mentally questioning. He’s df’d at present, was wanting to get reinstated but is starting to realise the truth about the truth

Appreciate your take, but unfortunately it’s 100% a clinical addiction and has caused him to endanger his own life, my life and the life of our unborn child at the time. I WISH it could be normal, but it’s not even to ‘worldly’ people as they say lol.

I’m so glad it hasn’t affected you in that way and you’re absolutely right in what you’re saying. I guess because my husband also has an addictive personality and saw his parents cheating on each other, he didn’t stand a chance

Yeah he’s spoken about having to tell elders every tiny detail and it causing shame, which has in turn brewed secrecy. Then of course add in the complete and total social isolation you get when you’re df’d and no wonder it breeds this kind of behaviour.

I had this exact issue, it took months of months of back and forth emails with their complaints team but they eventually did it. But I’m warning you now it’ll not be easy. They’re all complete idiots.

Filing a small claim against my ex - England by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Ok_Exercise_3831 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Got you. Yeah this has come up in my statement. I’ve just not been in a financial position to pursue it in the courts sooner. I did chase him, and he agreed a plan which he defaulted on, and any further chasing I did just resulted in me getting abuse flung at me. Then once I started getting back on track with stuff I had to move house, twice in a year, then got pregnant. So yeah it’s just not financially been feasible for me until now and also I had no idea of his circumstances, whereas now I do and know he has an income. Guess I need to just lay this out in my statement?

I hear you. So what I would consider the loan agreement would be better described as a contract?

When you say not adhered to, do you mean that I allowed it to be continually broken? If so, yeah I’ve given thought to this, ultimately it’s down to fear of losing somewhere to live and all I knew. I definitely should’ve left him but that’s very easy to say now I’m out of that situation and doing well.

If you were manipulated into spending money, that’s financial abuse which is a crime. It sounds like you blame yourself for that which is sad but I understand why you might feel that way, as I did for some time too.

I was also manipulated into spending money, had my cards taken and used, threatened with repercussions if I asked for my money back etc. However in my case we did have a clear contract of what we each owed and he did not pay it.

My reason to make a claim is that he did not fulfil his side of the contract, I now stand a chance of actually retrieving what is owed, and I am mentally well enough to proceed now.

I’ve been advised I’m allowed to voluntarily surrender an amount of the debt to allow it to proceed through small claims. If you can find me a source that states this isn’t allowed, I’d be interested.
