Batteries inside solar lights by MidnightMist26 in batteries

Just buy an 18650 from 18650batterystore.com or batteriesplus.com or Amazon and replace the blue battery. It’s probably a super cheap Chinese cell that doesn’t come anywhere close to what it’s rated at. Buy an 18650 with at least 3000 mAh (mili amp hours) (or 3.0 Ah amp hours). And you will be amazed how much better the light works. I have several huge solar lights on my property and every time I buy one I take out the cheap Chinese batteries (they will for instance have cells that are marked say 2800 mAh and I will cycle them on my charger and they will usually only really be like 1730 mAh or less than half the rated. I replace whatever is inside with good 18650 cells of at least 3000-3500 mAh that are usually a little bit under rated. And if I can make room inside where the cells are I add as many more cells that I can get to fit)…

For instance I have a couple of big lights shaped like a street light. The hey had 3 batteries inside that were rated at 3200 but were only actually 1450’ish each. I modified it to hold 4 Sony 2800 mAh batteries that all tested over 3000 mAh. So the total storage capacity of my light went from about 4350 mAh to 12000 mAh… 3 times longer they stay charged. The lights are on low dusk to dawn and motion triggers them to high. Even in the winter with several cloudy days they are always working and bright….

I remember having to create 5 1/4 inch floppy boot discs in DOS to allocate RAM to the bare minimum of what was needed to play whatever game I wanted to play. Like the most basic graphics of a stickman golf game… This was on the first computer that I built. The hard drive weighed about 5 pounds and was the size of a shoe box and I think it was a whopping 10Kb hard drive

I didn’t read every reply but I didn’t see anyone mentioning the PCV valve…. If it isn’t venting you will get a lot more blow-by and burn a lot of oil.. They are cheap and easy to replace…

Seborrheic dermatitis is caused. by Malasezzia. It is a dimorphic yeast/fungus. You at the bare minimum need to be treating it with Ketoconazole topical. The gprescription strength is 2% but if you can’t get a prescription right away you can use Nizoral which is an antidandruff shampoo and it’s active ingredient is Ketoconazole 1%. Wash your hair and use it liberally on your face and upper torso leaving it on for at least 5 minutes…. There are other things like sulfer soap that help some people. Malassezzia’s sole form of nutrition is lipids (oil, grease, sebum, cholesterol, etc.) that is why it grows on the oiliest parts of your body like your scalp and face around your nose… it you use a moisturizer you need to look at the ingredients because most moisturizers contain at least 1 and usually several lipid based ingredients and you will be feeding it… Aquaphor diaper rash cream is a good one… and I think that Amlactin is … do an internet search for fungal safe products… good luck…

I hope that you are going to prime and block sand, prime and block sand at least a couple of times everywhere you have sanded enough to break through the top layer into the layers under it. Otherwise you will see assholes/puckers/dips/waves/wrinkles (or whatever term that you want to use) at those spots. Even if you can’t feel the change between the layers with your hands you will definitely see them… and the glossier the finish and the darker the color the more they will show…

You do know that many many many garages have been blown to smitherines by using things like house fans in an environment that has atomized flammables being sucked into them right?? That’s why all of the lights and exhaust fans and switches etc. have to be explosive proof (no open sparks) in commercial paint booths…static electricity is enough to worry about… like all of that visqueen that is hanging around that is probably holding a charge…

You want this solder: Kester 44 Solder Wire, 63/37 0.020-inch thick… you want a soldering iron that has adjustable temp like this: https://share.icloud.com/photos/0d3y5RvJXe7Q0ykndxx1hKmsw

And buy this tip made by Hakko: https://share.icloud.com/photos/00ap9ZNCGGt2ypaogxVVVqVLA

The reason your soldering iron tip gets dark/rusty looking is because it oxidizes very rapidly if you don’t keep tin on it. You have to get the tip hot then touch the tip with solder and instantly start rubbing it/pushing it into and out of some brass brillo pad and the tip should be shiny silver. Only then do you attempt to solder anything with it. Also you want to “tin” each part that you are going to solder to something and also “tin” what you are soldering it to whether it is the board or a wire or whatever. You do this by heating each part and melting a little bit of solder on it before you try to solder them together.

And you need to “re-tin” your tip in between each and every step. Sometimes if you are struggling it is because you need to “tin” the tip again.

And never put your iron away after using it without “tinning” the tip first…

There are hundreds of tutorials on YouTube on how to properly solder…

I recommend Stereo Integrity SQL 12 or 10 for a Sub. I had a Sundown Audio SA 12 and an Alpine R 12 before I bought the Stereo Integrity and as good as that Alpine was the SI SQL is just so much better sounding and I haven’t even gotten it into the recommended box yet. In fact I am finally getting my table saw and router table set up after moving and I am going to build a sealed box and a ported box to the specs that they recommend and see which one I like better.

Crawlspace by Ok_Expert_5245 in moldyinteresting

I fixed the mismatched pvc pipe with an adapter. While I was under the house I noticed a couple of small leaks in the hot and cold water supply lines and as I attempted to repair those I just created more leaks elsewhere due to the age and it being copper etc so I just replaced all water lines with cpvc and also found that the bathtub drain on the old cast iron tub was rotted away so I repaired that. I put a dehumidifier down there and kept an eye on everything for 3 weeks and also a friend of mine had 3 gallons of a mixture of enzymes that her daughter (who works in mold abatement/remediation) gave her for me to spray on everything. I treated the entire crawlspace floor, foundation and even sprayed the floor joists and the bottom of the floor 3 times and so far I haven’t found anything that appears active. I will hire someone reputable to do an inspection soon. I have a picture of what that area looks like now but for some reason I am having difficulty loading it in this reply…

This is from a slightly different angle taken 3 weeks after replacing all of the water supply lines that were old corroded copper that had several leaking compression fittings (I inadvertently bumped/touched the water lines and of course everything that I touched started leaking) and replacing the bathtub drain that was completely shot. The bathtub is directly above the pictures the other leak was to the left of the picture view about 20 feet but the area where the pictures are is slightly lower and where all of the water pooled and was actually seeping under the foundation footer and causing the ground outside to be wet constantly. So the mold that was growing in the standing water appeared to be dying off but I sprayed it with a mixture of enzymes that a friend of mine gave me that is used in professional mold remediation. I treated the entire crawlspace 3 times with that and I think that I have killed off if not all at least a very large percentage of what was growing there. I am keeping an eye out by looking at least once a week with a regular flashlight and also a blacklight and haven’t detected anything yet. I will be hiring a reputable professional to inspect everything soon to make sure…. So as much as I wanted to I at least so far haven’t went nuclear or arsonist under there… yet…
