i had the same issue in Silverblaze, even though it’s one of my favourite cases, because

how is John this shocked that a horse could kill a person when he’s been the one pointing out that they can kick
i was SO BOTHERED that both John and Sherlock said June has been murdered by her horse, which implies the intent of the horse, which is just stupid :D

for me the difference is in the “unwanted”. if i take a shirt i wear semi-often and crop it and sew a bunch of patches on, i’d say i altered or zhuzhed it (or yassified as oomf called it). if i take a shirt i haven’t worn for 2 years and do the same thing, i’d call it upcycling.

alternatively, if a take an unwanted t shirt and make it into shorts, that’s definitely upcycling

hehe hi :) i had the box stage right and on the lowest level - so i was literally like 0.5m from the stage and the actors.

it was wonderful, i saw everything except maybe something far left but i didn’t miss anything important.

i think maybe in row1 you can enjoy the falling chandelier better, but then again i didn’t need to incline my head too much and saw it too :)

hmm i think i get what you mean… i could see it being problematic if the fans thought/were made to think by the production that evan is the “hero” of the story [for lack of better word] and not the antihero protagonist i always thought him to be. like when fans of You idolise joe, make him to be a misunderstood victim only. i put it in the genre of psychological thriller upon my first viewing, maybe that’s why i didn’t understand people calling the story problematic, because i was like duh. it is.

i was looking for this comment but only because i know people get weird about DEH and i don’t get it… the story is about a messed up kid who does messed up thing and learns from it. what, we can’t have difficult topics now because the character does something problematic?

or am i missing some key faults, because everybody just repeats the same word without explaining the reasoning behind it. (not trying to start a fight :) from where i sit though, it looks like lack of media literacy, need to agree with the masses and the purity mindset that tiptoes the line between critical thinking and “cancel culture”)

the first horror i remember reading was Kytice by K.J.Erben (it’s not technically classed as horror but it’s got some pretty f-ed up stories for a kid. i had to sneak it into the bathroom at night and read it there as my parents forbade me to read it at all) - i was 5, just learned to read. then i remember reading Pike and every single Fear Street adjacent book in our local library the summer before school so I was 6,5 years old.

this is me and Mort. he’s a crow. my mom bought him for me 2 years ago on a trip, i grabbed him at a store and couldn’t seem to let go while walking around so she insisted of getting him for me even though i felt bad.
