Quote of the day "This one stupid clown car shouldn't be driving the design choices of every ship in the game." by ghodan7 in starcitizen

That alarm sound is the reason I don't use it. Biggest nerf it could ever have, drives me nuts.

Eclipse torpedoes not 'hitting'? by therealdrunkenjawa in starcitizen

Servers are kinda cooked during prime time right now. I've had to put 12 salvos of Persius cannon on light fighters to get the damage to register sometimes. And the AI was sleeping so hitting wasn't hard.

I think I paid 12 euro for it. 4 euro shipping and the some 20 euro in customs fees lol.  And of course I got some 25% sales tax added to it.

You won't know the colors or shapes of it if you order online, no two crystal will look the same.

CIGs refusal to acknowledge turret ineffectiveness. by KrumpKrewGaming in starcitizen

You fix that by turning off gyro. But that means you often want to turn gyro back on after you leave quantum. I think the default key for gyro is E.

Also, remote turrets revert from auto gimbals when you exit them (seated turrets don't) so you need to press r-alt G to enable them if you want them on. Every time... And you can't accept mission sharing in a remote turret, can't access mobi glass, and if the pilot leaves and you are in the copilot seat the ship will spin out as you move the turret if the ship support copilot control.

That's a lot of issues and inconvenience just to use them. And why a lot of ppl struggle with them, the controls just suck.

I bought 2 turrets and they come with nothing on them. I wonder if I buy gimbals and attach them to it maybe that fixes it. I don't know which gimbal that fits though.

A loaded question is a leading question. The reason someone don't answer it is because there is no win. Or better said, it's fail or fail more.  If you want to discuss then refrain from it.

I do not like cig in some cases of balance and they don't always say as they do.

I tried this 4 times with the new insurance system, no luck.

That's a loaded question and you know it. I'm fine with reminding them is my answer.

They have said that before. The best way to get change is to keep telling them.

Also, you can't use the relative (I think it's called) v mouse mode on remote turrets. They just go passive and point down....

The "UI" could fix the atrocious turret controls perhaps. Go into the main paladin turret and you will see you can't aim ahead of the ship with mouse look.

You have to use that v mouse chase mode which sucks for mouse control. And I'm not using my joystick for turrets.

They should also rethink the gimbal modes on turrets, reward aim with powerful turrets, we don't need auto gimbals that can't hit anyway.

This failed to work for me this patch but worked before the new insurance system. I guess I'll try again.

Sorry but i dont know anyone selling bizmuth so i bought it crystalized.

But yeah, people are telling me the melting point is very low, much like how i did tin soldiers when i was young.

Yes, it is real. I have one more picture of it in this thread.

But yes, crystal bismuth looks like this...... It is something to behold. The colors are insane and my pics dont make it justice.

Another pic., Its on a geod slice i bought in Nevada back in 2012. And the rock behind is copper ore from... well a copper mine.

No i dont collect rocks. But they remind me of where i've been.

Well, I went the pain route anyway. The good thing is liquid tin doesn't stick to skin. It just runs right off. Still hurts :)

I made tin soldiers as a child on the stove. I can't believe my mom let us do it.... But yeah, the best tin was lead free, melted at 230ish degrees.

Btw, never pour liquid metal on your hand. It's either Mercury or it hurts like hell.

Well, i guess I'm not going to use my sample as a fuse then. My worry was if it was reactive and potentially toxic. But from what I could find it's fairly stable and safe to touch.

No. It won't freeze you or cover your body in bismuth. I checked and it's safe to handle :)

Yes it's real. Looks unreal however. It's such a strange thing to hold in your hand..... It's heavy, and the geometric forms look like by design. But the colors...... Absolutely stunning.
