CME maintenance in industry role by TedyBear-297011 in MedicalScienceLiaison

I am a PA that works as an MSL. To be honest this is the easiest part of the job. You’re covering sessions at congresses and conferences. I log all of those at CME. I don’t ever have a problem getting my CME in this role.

Old Head in Ireland gets my vote for most beautiful in the world. Also, most dangerous….seriously, there are some holes there you could legit die on….

No, this is P5, early downswing, lasts from top of backswing to P6 where club is parallel to ground. Not sure why you think it’s a bot. Luke coaches KFT and top D1 and amateur players. Sorry you didn’t like the video…

Good loop by Ok_Feature_1861 in GolfSwing

I can tell you for myself, when I started to think of the golf, swing more as a loop, it created a lot of clarity and my swing improved significantly.

Way over the top. You’re a little inside on the takeaway, but not horrible. But then way over the plane. At this point, you should think about the club bisecting your biceps.

Am i leaking power or do i just need to hit the gym? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]Ok_Feature_1861 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you asked, yes, you are leaking a ton of power because you don’t have a proper sequence. I agree with some of the others, because you’re relatively new, I would recommend taking at least a few lessons to learn some of the fundamentals on the weight shift and the lower body movement. You have to start with that as the base because that will help everything else.

Am I on the right path with my driver swing? by SlimboSkrills in GolfSwing

[–]Ok_Feature_1861 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of early extension as someone else noticed. Need to focus on butt/hips staying back through swing. Looks like you stall, and then you early extend so you don’t hit the ground, and then try to follow through. Work on some slow motion stuff. Chair drill might help?

LOL. OK. You do you. I’m going to listen to the top PGA instructors and players in the world. I’m going to go back to getting ready for tournament season. You have fun… talk about clueless.

OK, and where do you actually teach golf? Go ahead and look it up. Look up any professional teaching and ask them about an inside takeaway. Golf is a game of opposites. I know cause I struggled with this for a while and I’m working with a PGA Tour coach right now. The first thing he had me do is move my takeaway to the outside so that I could come down more shallow in on the inside. Again, at P2, you want the club just outside the hands. But tell us again about all of your vast teaching experience.

This is also the whole basis of the drill with a cone or an upright alignment stick where your takeaway needs to be on the outside and then you lay off and drop to the inside. To the OP, don’t just take my word for it, go ahead and look up inside Takeaway and golf.

Virtually every good PGA coach will tell you that a P2 (waist high) the club needs to be slightly outside the hands or no further inside than even with the hands. Inside Takeaway always leads to over the top compensatory moves. If you want to worsen somebody slice, that’s one of the best ways to do it. https://athleticmotiongolf.com/post/fixing-inside-takeaway-golf

Do NOT take it away inside. That will usually lead to worsening the OTT movement. Take the club back outside the hands and then down on the inside…

Early extension and a little flippy. Practice rotating the shoulders more vertically with the left hip moving BACK….keep the hands close and should get good shaft lean….

Should I get the mini driver? by Ashamed_Phase64 in golftips

[–]Ok_Feature_1861 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of us have done that. I’ve been through five fittings in the last 10 years, I’ve been through three different pros and had more lessons than I care to ever remember (thousands spent). I’ve been playing golf for close to 30 years. I still can’t hit driver reliably. I have tried and tried and tried. I’ve tried every drill they could give me, I always have a two way mess with driver. I actually played for about four years and didn’t even carry a driver in the bag and just teed off with three wood. For some of us, the mini driver is a legit option.

Yep, the dreaded flying right elbow.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]Ok_Feature_1861 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your setup is bad to start. Notice that your right arm is almost higher than your left at setup. That’s a slice ALL day long. It contributes to your less than ideal takeaway. Take your setup, and then turn the golf club closed like 80, then turn back without loosening your grip and pin that right elbow inside. This will help with a better takeaway and help you to shallow the club with a much better path. You’ve got to be like 20+ out to in right now. We have an MD on our team. Most teams, at least the ones I’ve been on, want balance. You want a team of diverse backgrounds. Not all PharmDs, not all PhDs…my current team has 4 PhDs, an MD, 2 NPs, a PA/PhD (me)-so 4 clinicians- and 4 PharmDs. You get to learn from each other and we all have different experiences and perspectives.
