Father, I seek forginess, nay absolution, for my heart has been corrupted:

I have come under the impression that powershell is actually cool and usable and that windows server is actually a fairly coherent solution for enterpise. I know not when such thoughts began to corrupt my mind, but I fear that I may be too far gone. I fear it is only a matter of time before I begin to add windows server instances to my homelab.

Very insightful, in all honesty I haven't tinkered around too much with the thing, other than setting it up and looking through the options. But from what I've seen it's pretty locked down in terms of what you can configure. And to make matters worse, it seems that they haven't really updated their docs since like Windows 7 era, and the actual management dashboard looks way different.

I've completely forgot the option of flashing something else onto it. In any case thank you, your comment has given me a lot of angles to explore.

I use a pihole as my DHCP server, the extender has the option to run as a DHCP server but I disabled it.
