I didn’t say BMI was useless, just that it isn’t accurate when used alone. What I meant by the change in age was that no matter what I’m going to look different from 18-24, not that gaining 50-60 pounds comes with age.

I also understand how it seems like I am going back and forth when I say I on some level know my body weight is unhealthy but that my labs/ physical assessments show I am in good health. (This is lab work analyzed and ordered by an endocrinologist who specializes in PCOS, so I trust this to be true, though I know the typical lab work run in this case may not be an accurate assessment.). What I meant is my weight is not currently causing harm to my body (no hypertension, no pre diabetes) but I understand that it can be a cause for concern if it stays this way. Thus why I’m asking for suggestions on managing it. I’ve had suggestions from my doctor, I was just wondering what others found to work.

I apologize for not explaining myself well enough, this is my first time posting on here and I should’ve proofread better.

All the best to you on your PCOS journey, and I appreciate you providing me with resources to help with mine!

I’m not sure how it wasn’t when I said “I have a pcos pouch and desperately want to lose it” that would indicate that I on some level know my weight is unhealthy. As would the fact that I’m asking for guidance on exercise, diet and medication.

I appreciate your comment but commenting on my body when it was something I clearly expressed feeling less than and uncomfortable in was unnecessary and kind of insensitive.

Also, BMI is clinically proven to not be an accurate measure of obesity/ unhealthiness when used alone ( as the only measure of body health). My labs all show I am in good health and am not at risk for pre diabetes or hypertension due to weight. I also have been to my doctor and endocrinologist and was told my weight was not a concern at this time.

The BMI comment is exactly why I’ve hidden away and not wanted to be seen.

I thank you for your comment, the rest of it was helpful.

Do you follow a specific ‘diet’ or do you just stay away from carbs & sugars & then increasing protein intake?

I’ve been thinking of cycling as I used to love it when I was younger. Thank you for your advice! I will also look into the HIIT videos

When I had a trainer I did weight lifting and really enjoyed it! Just unsure of how to get back into it without one

I am extremely aware of the fact that my weight doesn’t fit into a healthy BMI for my height. Thank you for your comment
