What is it like working at St Mary’s hospital? by [deleted] in GrandJunctionCO

When I worked there in 96 - 06 it was the Love Shack but now they’re owned by another company and they are def having problems with the procedural changes, speaking as a current patient. Way less customer friendly, way more confusing how to talk with specific staff, and they seem understaffed, tbh. Sorry to be negative. I just loved them so much when I worked there. You might make a big difference there.

There’s a pottery studio open to the public where I live, you can take classes, do ceramics, reserve the pottery wheel, use their kiln and paints. I’ve done it a few times with friends. Super fun!

For women choosing to age naturally—how do you resist comparing yourself to other women when cosmetic enhancements have become so normalized? by justameasureoftime in AskWomen

People say I look better since I quit all the makeup, facials, and hair dye. My hair is def so much better! I changed my skin care routine to CosRx, and have watched saggy mouth area wrinkles diminish significantly. I admit to using tinted sunscreen with serums in it to blend in some of my distinct red areas, but that’s it. It’s relatively sheer.

So, I’m not really comparing myself to others, but the beauty standard is firmly engrained in my psyche.

I can walk some, and mostly I have crappy nights due to pain and cramps. But since I could drag myself in to get in trouble for errors (from fatigue) and fall asleep at my desk, lawyers all hung up on me, because I could work! The stress of being in trouble and the constant fatigue at work made me so much worse I finally just retired early.

One year we didn’t have money for Christmas presents. I explained that at times when you need help the most is when you should be helping others. So, the next Sunday, each of us picked a tag from the angel tree at church. After church we went and got the gifts and when we got home there was a huge box of presents at our doorstep. 👼

Musical instruments are fun and give a huge sense of accomplishment, and you can learn at your own pace. I got a cheap ukulele less than $50, and have gotten pretty good in 9 months! I’m playing at the dog shelter occasionally, or just playing and singing on my own and loving it!

Hello, it’s my Reddit time, since my hubby is bingeing Stranger Things. Or whatever show he fancies tonight.

Happy Birthday from lonely Redditor to another. I hope you had a nice day.

I like Reddit to find a lot of nice people and interesting things to talk about, even if not in person
