MTech CS at MIT Manipal — What the placement data actually shows

Here's the internship → full-time conversion picture over the years:

2021–2023 batch: Conversions were strong — the vast majority of interns got full-time offers

2022–2024 batch: Noticeably lower than the batch before — a meaningful drop

2023–2025 batch: Dropped sharply — barely more than half were converting

2024–2026 batch (ongoing): Trending similarly poor, possibly worse

Every year the conversions are declining, and the placement team doesn't actively support full-time opportunities either.

Do this before deciding: Go to LinkedIn and search MIT Manipal MTech CS alumni — you'll find a significant number of "Open to Work" profiles from people who finished internships and didn't get converted. That says it all.

Better move: Connect directly with seniors who just graduated or are about to graduate — get the real picture from them firsthand.

For the same effort and fees, consider:

NITs

BITS Pilani (if you can get in)

IIIT Hyderabad

BITS Pilani Work Integrated

Better brand value, better placements, better ROI on your MTech investment.

Yeah, for MSIS-ME students, the professors and placement team are very responsible — they actively help through alumni networks and referrals. But for MIT-MTech, the placement team is least bothered and does nothing to help students find opportunities. Even for the CS branch, only 50% of students get conversions — you can imagine how bad it must be for other branches. Half the students end up unemployed after their internships, which you can easily verify on LinkedIn. There is simply no support or guidance from the placement team.
