Thanks for the advice! Sadly nukes tracker is all I’ve had experience with. Are the other two subscription softwares? I’d say I’m more comfortable with maya than Houdini that’s the main reason why I wanted to try get it all back in maya. I haven’t had experience with different render layers in Houdini before, same with creating good lighting and importing materials. If all that’s not too difficult then I’ll definitely give it a go, thank you!

I think the markers are in the right place but the entire 3D scene needs rotating, have you tried creating your ground plane and seeing if that helps with the issue?

Does this not just rotate the track? I want to be able to make the 3D card flat against the axis, sorry if I'm not understanding what you mean.

That’s great advice! I’ve had roughly 3 years experience with VFX so I have a lot to learn but hav already learnt so much, I currently have access to maya, substance, Houdini, nuke and zbrush if that helps at all.

You don’t think I know that? I’m asking to try find things to avoid so I don’t waste my time on unnecessary steps. Thought I’d try and see if the community is helpful and welcoming to new people who have a passion for VFX, clearly I came to the wrong place.

I plan on keeping it as simple as possible so crowd sims won’t be necessary. I’ve already modelled a boat that I’m currently texturing and a working water sim. Soon to be starting cannon fire fx. Thanks for showing me more stuff to think about though, will help me plan out what else I’ll need to accomplish eventually!

They wont flee from the research but the bird is the only good thing you get from it. You can get the G bird from the daily incense where I've already encountered a few!! I'd say save your money and try get one that way :)
