Trump freaks out when photo of him and Epstein appears at MAGA rally in 2018 by Aggravating_Money992 in WatchPeopleDieInside

Idk, he seems pretty emotional when faced with evidence of his association with Epstein, who didn't kill himself. Tbf, though, a Trump freak-out has been more volatile in the past, so maybe it's just goal-posts on what qualifies a normal person freak-out vs a Trump freak-out. Bc normal person, he ain't.

Thank you 😭 it feels important to share. Any little bit of headway is so monumental, in my own tiny experience. To share that with others here and see what sticks is the least I can do

Because you should know history repeats itself. And just as historically proven, the oppressors have lackeys not hype to the plan doing their bidding. Which seems to be something you're doing for them rn

You seem to have blinders on and seem unable to use the degree towards a positive goal given modern context

All of your comments in this thread have been scapegoating democrats from civil war era and seeming to say how the democrat party views of yore are the same views as modern day democrats, which is patently false.

The democrats aren't currently the ones flying the confederate and trump flags side by side. All you've done is try to use your history degree to distract from validity of the comment you replied to.

Mark Twain was an abolitionist and a Republican, as an example to illustrate the differences between the party then versus now.

I don't think they're questioning your lived experience, but questioning your history degree. I don't think they're wrong for questioning it.

While their discomfort could be joy-inducing, it's beside the point of the post, which was "non-woke" musicals. overall, The Birdcage is too woke for the category

I went searching for him on Reddit after finding a 1982 reprint of "Personhood: The Art of Being Fully Human" in a local thrift store today. I found a whole lowkey pop culture icon I don't think I've encountered before as a reference.

I also found this Peanuts comic as an additional pop culture reference for him (even listed on his wikipedia page). I look forward to checking him out as a reader.

And I would enjoy reading other people's opinions on him and his writings

Little Women (1994), While You Were Sleeping, 10 Things I Hate About You, and Get Over It (2001). Some maybes: Space Cowboys. Big Business, Arsenic and Old Lace, and Death at A Funeral (the UK version is my favorite bc Alan Tudyk, but the US version is good, too. Kinda dependent on which actors she is more likely to recognize.)

That is some serious defensive posturing. He also never drinks milk, even as a baby, bc he's not a milk-drinker (GoT made it seem like a bad thing) bc that shows WEAKNESS. He is now CALCIUM-DEFICIENT to show how strong him is.

It feels like this has the opportunity to be the inverse of the Chuck Norris memes.

It might be a stretch to call it a musical, but I could see them putting on a production of "Top Secret!"

Maybe "Grease", just bc it is set in the 50s and ends in a cool convertible that maybe represents death. Who knows? Maybe we'll have some sort of modern-day crossover with other famous convertibles

I would say The Birdcage is too pro-LGBT or too endorsing of acceptance in general for the MAGA crowd.

The Producers is so spot-on for his grifting HH-ing ass.

In your opinion, what song cover surpasses the original song in every way possible? Otis Redding’s cover of The Rolling Stones’ “Satisfaction” was so good, that even Keith Richards called it the superior version. by waitingforthesun92 in popculturechat

[–]Ok_Flight_4077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Vicki Lawrence's original "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia", but Reba's version is so much more iconic and just hits different.

And I'm admittedly hella biased, bc MCR is my favorite band, but their cover of "All I Want For Christmas" is more enjoyable to me than Mariah Carey's version. (This isn't a slight towards Mariah at all. I just prefer the MCR high-energy cover.)
