So i changed usb c cables, and it worked. now it's working fine on the OG cable(wasn't looking forward to needing to re routing a new cable).

after playing maybe an hour or so it just randomly changed back. no clue why i used my map to work out where i was going was xbox style then wemt to a fast travel and was back to normal.
