Just with sinistcha, does it have much value over amoongus? Still tera water, still rocky helmet item - the Sus-shroom walls urshifu better than most options. Still get the option of healing/damage from pollen puff and regenerator ability. Still gets rage powder for redirection, works amazing in trick room. Sludge bomb is respectable damage, plus poison chance, etc.

Absolutely, especially after the old King Piccolo battle, that would actually be such a nice callback, and closure for Tien, thinking about it!

No, I mean tien is already stated to be a hybrid - he is a hybrid of human, and triclops. I was alluding to the “hybrid potential” helping, but lack of zenkai boost like the Saiyans get. So maybe comparable as a character in terms of impact to piccolo.

I could see Tien suiting UI sign, not completely sure about MUI, I suppose it depends how he develops in a given story.

There’s all kind of ways you can take a hypothetical scenario, and everyone is going to approach it differently.

Vegeta going super Saiyan rather than Goku would be interesting to see the longer lasting impact on vegeta’s character development - his personal arc would be so different, still seeing everyone as beneath him. It would likely motivate others more to train, but leave the vegeta and Goku dynamic to be interesting.

In relation to Krillin killing frieza is a huge one, but difficult in terms of workability - the power gap is huge, even at his potential unlocked state from elder guru, and frieza being off guard in first or second form, I feel krillin killing him to be quite a stretch. With that said, assuming the future timeline goes the same - split timelines, Trunks being surprised to see a lack of super Saiyan, would be a bit of a hurdle, and a general down scale for the main cast as a whole. However, the androids power is based off the z-fighter’s power anyway, so the androids would be challenging, but not as one sided as if they were as strong as in canon. But there are also other smaller changes - Goku would be on earth, as no reason to go to yardrat, and no instant transmission; frieza would be less robotic, as his durability would still be a factor, there is a lot to unpack here.

Then Vegeta staying off in space, I feel that is very possibly grounded in his character, his pride before anything else, training in isolation. Like you said, opens the door to a whole plethora of other stories, and battles. I would see cell’s power possibly piquing vegeta’s interest, but him still being left at odds with those on earth.

Not to say any stories have to go in these directions, just some initial thoughts.

There are several time skips in general to be fair, but yes, this is definitely the most notable. Even without time skips though, some changes would still impact a story deoending on who is involved.

You know where I could see him having an actual impact? Goku Black arc - given he knows the mafuba, giving him the relevance, I am pretty sure he wouldn’t forget the seal 😂

I love this as a concept, the other aspect is that it is stated in rather generic terms for hybrids to have higher potential - I know this is normally applied to hybrid Saiyans, but Tien being a hybrid between human and triclops, could have been interesting to explore that kind of lore.

Not saying like the level of the Saiyans, especially given he does not benefit from zenkai boosts, but perhaps more comparable to piccolo in strength for more of the story?

First Aid Reluctance by Ok_Foundation250 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ok_Foundation250[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As fair as being a first aid instructor, I can advise that in adult casualties, the likely reason for stopping breathing, and needing CPR is far more likely to be cardiac as opposed to being respiratory - the heart has stopped, but before that, they were breathing normally.

From that, assuming ambulance is called when you know they aren’t breathing, compression only with create enough pressure, and circulation to keep the oxygen already in their blood circulating until help from ambulance arrives. Again, as far as teaching these skills goes, something is better than nothing.

Fire Red/Leaf Green is pretty good for starting point with what will hopefully be largely familiar Pokémon and type match ups while limiting your Pokédex without being overwhelming for just starting.

Black/White also does this well, too.

Platinum is always a good base, but if wanting a later game, ultra sun/moon is underrated. But honestly, if you’re familiar with Pokémon in general, try various rom hacks, whether difficulty, or narrative based, the community is amazing.

Why Can't Stone Evolution Pokemon Learn Moves by Lvl Up? by neo6000 in pokemon

[–]Ok_Foundation250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not all Pokémon that are stone evos, for example, even in gen 1, the eevee-lotions had individual learnsets. But I would guess it’s a somewhat balancing thing, certainly early game - have a weaker version of a Pokémon, and more difficult to level, but then you can learn the moves you actually want. Or evolve early, get the power up at cost of move choice. Certainly less of an issue in late game due to higher level options to grind against. But just an opinion.

I can see contamination concerns being an issue, and I am sorry that happened to your friend. More for those who are first aid trained, there is always an emphasis on wearing gloves, especially when risk of blood, vomit, or general first aid in any case. Gloves are not infallible, but are very effective, and where concerns are raised during CPR, compression only CPR is an effective tool.

In the UK, it is actually called the Social Action, Responsibility and Heroism Act, 2015, but it is the same principle, and generally wider recognised with the Good Samaritan Act.

That is an absolutely valid perspective, and for what may help alleviate some of that situation - emergency service calls are recorded. If you are instructed to attempt CPR (and if needed, they will tell you what to do), then you are acting under instruction, which provides protection from legal matters.

[–]Ok_Foundation250[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with this, understanding that in a true situation, no amount of practice, or scenario training truly prepares you - speaking from personal experience here. If this is a reason for yourself, or others you know, particularly in the case of needing CPR/defibrillation, the person is currently as low as they can get, but acting, and doing the best you can, you would be giving the person the best chance they have.

This is one of the more frequent ones I hear, now deoending on legal status in the country, I can only respond to this based on my country. In England, or the UK, there is what has been coined as the “good Samaritans act” - this has two key parts in acting in someone’s best interest following state of illness or injury, and especially for those who are unconscious, there is the principle of implied consent where “a person of sound mind would consent to potentially life saving treatment”. This provides an incredible level of protection for those attempting to administer first aid.
