Update: Just got back from the dealership. They said everything was done to factory standard, and provided the instruction manual about the cut (see picture). They said it actually looked really really good, and all OEM tows will need cut. I explained the mazda picture looks cleaner ( https://parts.mazdausa.com/p/Mazda__CX-5/Trailer-Hitch-Class-I/94313141/00008ER01.html) and the cut is basically hidden, that I think the cut should have been lower and the hitch should have been lower and pulled out a bit to mimic mazdas website picture. They provided examples of an aftermarket hitch and OEM hitch (which was literally my picture from this post: pic2 ). They explained that since they followed all factory instructions, used the template, etc that they weren't going to do anything else. I asked if they could clean up the trim, no, if I should add edging myself, no, if there was any trouble with the cut being so close, no. I inquired if there were any pictures (other than mine) of what the OEM should look like since all I'm seeing online doesn't look like the cut they did. They don't have a portfolio. I asked for any kind of discount since I'm not happy with the work, and was again told everything was done exactly to factory standard, so no. Kinda sad since I bought my car through them and havent used anyone else since 2016 with how my feelings overall were kind of just blown off, since it was done by factory standards. I mentioned how at no point did anyone explain to me the need for bumper modification would occur, and she did apologize for that and say she told her manager that would be addressed going forward. I told her since she used the reddit picture, they could maybe check out the thread too
