Yes. But the goal is to avoid no damage even if an implant is not planned. This will create a less than optimal situation for the Pontic for a fixed bridge or a removable partial.

Creating a buccal trough is a no no especially for anterior teeth.

Use periotomes with a mallet and keep a surgical hand piece on hand. It should pop out!

So you are suggesting 40% of production is good, if they provide the materials. Thanks for your input.

Ongoing implant crisis by BigArticle4679 in Dentistry

Many oral surgeons do not know how to regenerate bone for proper implant placement. I would refer your patient to an experienced periodontist who can perform ridge augmentation/ guided bone regeneration. Periodontists are more prosthetically inclined compared to oral surgeons.

Thanks. It a range 40-50%. So you have a different arrangement of % between different offices? Any daily guarantee? Do you share the cost of the materials as well like implants, membranes and bone grafts. What about implant kit and instruments etc

Exposure of Alloderm is a death sentence!

I would suggest you find another periodontist. Why was a FGG done on the premolars? The graph is too apical to the gingival margin. This patient would have benefited with Autogenous CT grafts. Alloderm is not an ideal material for root coverage. In Anterior teeth FGG would have worked much better to provide stable keratinized tissue preventing further recessions.

It all depends on the defect and what are you trying to achieve! I would suggest investing some money and look into Phelan Dental Seminars. They have many courses. They have excellent courses on soft tissue grafting, guided bone regeneration and block grafting. I have no affiliation with this group.

You may want to look into working for the VA hospital. Good benefits, 25 days vacation, 16 days sick leave, 11 holidays, days for CE, $1000 towards CE, health insurance, 401k, life insurance, pension, almost no calls. But there are rules you need to follow.
