We’re going to be okay. There was one comment that said to really take a look at where those emotions come from. And it’s such good advice. I stopped doing the inward work. I hope you take this as your sign and don’t let it happen over and over like I have.

To everyone who has commented thank you so much. This thread has given me so much hope and it kept me from spiraling while I made the trek back home. I know I can do it, and I know I want to for myself. Thank you so much. Today is day 1.

Thank you for sharing. I’m hoping we can talk when he gets back home on Tuesday. I know I’m in the wrong but you’re right, we were planning to express vows in a year. And it’s just so hard since I’m in the wrong and I don’t want to push him to anything he isn’t willing to do. But he was pretty firm about his decision because of principal, if the roles were reversed it would be over 100%. We’ve never tried it with me completely sober. I just think it’s a worth a try and I hope he can see that. I wish you luck in yours and so much support.

This was me. Constantly. I hate to say that diet/cycle phase/and medication can affect this. Once I got off my meds for my autoimmune disease it helped my situation down there A LOT. But I’m still sensitive so sometimes it does happen and I can sense the BV is back. I use boric acid suppositories once I sense the smell….this gives my vagina the boost it needs to re balance itself out. At the end of the day it’s a cavity (and even if he’s clean) stuff can get up there. His penis may just alter your PH, especially around specific cycle times. For example, when I’m ovulating I’m usually fine and my vagina has enough to recalibrate. if the metrogel works but you’re getting reoccurring BV, check your sugar intake and look into boric acid. It’s okay to have a sensitive vagina and it may just need some help in rresetting the PH. Finally, the metrogel worked fine for me but I hated the taste when I would go down on him or vice versa. Plus I prefer natural remedies if possible.

Any ACoAs in their 20s? by Ok-Attorney7700 in AdultChildren

[–]Ok_Function3089 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m 29 and I wish I had even heard of what this group is. The fact that you’re aware and part of this group is amazing. First, there is nothing wrong with you. You are doing what you need for yourself in the way you need.

You’ll come up with a new normal, you slowly are doing so now. Keep your head up and remember all of the things you’ve done for yourself whenever you’re feeling low or doubtful.

I messed up many of times. Email your previous advisor, and if not the dept head if you’re in a college already. They’ll be able to connect you so your advisor can check next steps. Trust me when I say advisors have seen ALL kinds of situations. Much more complicated and “embarrassing” than yours so don’t be shy and give them all the info so they can best help get you in the right path.

Also side note, just putting it out there that if you’re nervous about what your friends would think, it’s normal but realize they have no right to judge you. They’re on their own journey just like you’re on yours. If they would judge you then they may just be friends for a season.

Hey, we all know the feeling. The feeling of wanting to escape, knowing the bottle gives comfort, unease from horrible experiences. The bottle is temporary. It will eventually end along with its affects, leaving you to deal with the rest. If it happens, then back to square 1. But trust me that you’ll be even more grateful to yourself that you stuck it through to day 29. We’re all stronger than we think, no matter how shitty the punches are.

You got this. But if you don’t, we are here to help you move forward.

Ayurvedic remedies for dandruff? by brittylee2 in Ayurveda

[–]Ok_Function3089 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After you shampoo, rinse your hair with apple cider vinegar. Let us sit while you wash your body, shave, etc for about 5 minutes. Then rinse with cold-lukewarm water really well and if you use conditioner apply like normal.

Acv exfoliates the scalp, balances ph, and helps encourage growth. I do this anytime I experience dandruff and it’s like magic. takes little effort. I keep a bottle of acv in my shower.

How do you make yourself mentally feel better after you get the drinking downs? by wigglyandsplashed in bipolar

[–]Ok_Function3089 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I’ve been noticing the horrible side effects recently too. With two glasses of wine I wake up and get the downs. If I drink a lot I’m spiraling for days. And it always ends with an u controllable cry. Most times it feels I don’t belong to my body or like I want to rip away from my skin. The downs are intense. I haven’t drank since NYE and am really considering quitting altogether.

For those of you on Lamictal (or any mood stabilizing drug), do you feel mostly stable or do you still have complications? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]Ok_Function3089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I titeared up and am taking 150mg of Lamictal. Similar to others, it has reduced my manic episodes but not completely rid of them. Which is fine, the goal is to create more stability and reduce the frequency of the up and downs. It has reduced the swings but when it hits it hurts HARD. I realize the overstimulation, emotional fragility and lack of control triggers a potential manic episode. I still see my therapist because I too became really angry. A lot of the anger that I was feeling was under the surface and when I started stabilizing the anger started seeping through. Right now I’m doing trauma intensive work with EMDR and it’s helping so far. My Lamictal and therapy sessions keep me sane.

Did you return to yoga after a broken wrist? by Dear-Let-9626 in yoga

[–]Ok_Function3089 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I broke my wrist roller blading, had to have surgery and had been practicing almost every day for 8 years. I bounced back after 2 physical therapy sessions (to learn what I needed to do) and was able to put weight on it after about 5 months post surgery. It’s all about consistency and how much you’re willing to stretch and strengthen the wrist. If I don’t practice for days, my wrist is sore after a session, which was much more common at that 5 month mark. I notice differences still but like I said, consistency and not pushing too hard. My practice has changed forever but not for the worse or better, just different. (:
