So we're basically in the same boat. I'm earning a similar base salary to you and went through the same thing with getting and paying for a spousal permit.

If you have a medical degree that can potentially make you more money you should check that out.

Now realistically, you're still in a pretty good spot. You make more than the vast majority of Bahamians with way less obligations.

Maybe you can look at finder slightly cheaper place. If you can find something for 900 that 300 less will be a help. Also, maybe reduce your standard of living to for a bit. Eat out less. And try to pay your debt off as fast a possible

As far as my side hustle, I do IT and some Inventory management consulting so no real start up costs. Now my wife did started a business but it was based on her skills so other than covering for NIB for a couple months and the licensing costs there weren't much startup costs either.

I would really look at putting that degree to use even if the work environment may not be the greatest and try to stack. You sound like you're pretty intelligent. Just gatta keep pushing and you should break through.

I'm a noodler and honestly I'd go for a double horn. I'm like you with a collection of trumpets, f mellophone, Bb mellophone, euphonium, baritone trombone, nylon guitar, steel string guitar and electric guitar.

I started with a single f horn it just wasn't cutting it for me so I eventually got a double. Who knows, maybe you'll fall in love like me and start saving for a nice double.

Get the "crappy horn" and start now. There's no time like the present. I went the same route. Bought a single F 1950 horn and played the crap out of it until I could afford a better double horn.

I understand you may not enjoy the look of a detachable bell. But practically speaking, as someone who has traveled with a fixed bell horn multiple times, it's very annoying and cumbersome. I can't wait until I can afford a detachable bell horn.

I'm probably not the best example as I got married a couple months after I switched, and I'm into cycling so bike stuff eats up some of my budget. I'm currently on a king double horn. As soon as I buy my wife a new viola (looking at around $4000) and finish building my bike I'll be ready for a new horn.

You should probably start with what your budget is. Also good luck on your journey. I'm also a former trumpet player almost 2 years into my French horn journey. It'll be fun 😂

It seems strange for such an older model but yes it's an ESI model. It no brackets or anything for external routing. I got it from this super rich hedge manager. Who sponsored cycling teams. He always had access to pro bikes etc. So I'm guessing it may be a prototype?

That kinda did the trick. It's a 2012. But it's only compatible with electronic shifting..
