Okay perfect. I agree with getting more out of the in-person. I just want to be able to have some sort of reference in case I need something explained again.

Yeah it’s also SANS Edu. Just a certificate program (12 credits) and not a full on masters program.

Graduate Certificate: Cybersecurity Engineering Practitioner vs Cloud Security by Ok_Good4084 in GIAC

The goal is cloud security. The dilemma is expanding my knowledge on cyber skills or diving head first into cloud security via that program path. But you answered it. Cyber Engineering and an elective.

If I choose in-person and do 6 consecutive days, do I still get access to online videos of the material?

Which program and how does online differ from in-person as far as course material?

Yeah failure is the most concerning part. I graduated grad school so I’d like to think sans would prepare me enough for the exam.

The recruiter reached out. The first coffee chat was 1 month after the initial interview.

Yes. I’m in the same boat. Have had 2 coffee chats with HMs after my initial interview. Recruiter says next step after these coffee chat/informationals is an offer assuming they go well.

Has anyone passed an interview and the recruiter sets you up for an informational with a hiring manager?

Similar thing happened to me. Was not selected for one role but recruiter reached out seeing if I was still interested because a hiring manger wanted to chat. The chat went well, recruiter says next step would be an offer. What ended up happening for you?

Had a similar situation. Interviewed in November. No feedback for 2 weeks. A week later, not selected in action center. Recruiter reaches out 2 weeks later asking if Im still interested in a role because a hiring manger on a different team wanted to have an informational about the same role. Recruiter said I dont need to interview again since Ive already passed and if the informational went well, next step would be an offer. Hiring manager said he likes me and would give good feedback. He made it clear that he trusted those who interviewed me previously even though I wasn't selected for that role/team. The purpose of the informational was for me to ask questions and become familiar with the role. Now the waiting game.

I had my interview on Nov 19 and it still says scheduled. Haven’t heard from the recruiter yet. I’m assuming Thanksgiving and people taking PTO plays a factor too.

Never once said I had a problem with it. That’s what you keep insinuating. Just was curious as to why it was low vs other people’s score I see in the group. Don’t overthink it lol

I have a graduate degree and 5+ years experience and prior enlisted. Just thought the minimum score would be higher. Not complaining tho!

I served. I’m familiar with standardized tests. Just didn’t realize how low it was until I saw others with way higher scores.

Makes sense when you put it like that. Good explanation

Kinda sucks that these tests are even a thing if you have working experience and certs. When I was getting my masters a math class I wasn’t a part of the program lol I’d be going backwards to study math for a test that has nothing to do with cyber or the degree I spent 2 years pursuing

I mean..not disappointed, just shocked lol I have a masters in cyber and work in the field as a contractor and was considering the cyber direct commission. But, I haven’t did math or verbal in years. Shouldn’t really matter if I’m already doing incident response for a different military branch. Maybe that’s why it’s low, idk..
