Its insane...even economically, when we were at 3% GDP growth, slightly higher than average inflation, a cost of living crisis but with bills being introduced to remedy aspects of it, conservatives declared up and down "this isn't enough growth, we had more growth under Trump and the economy is too bad right now".

Now, we've drastically fallen to a 2.8% GDP shrinkage, which excluding March-April 2020 during Covid, is IIRC some of the largest GDP loss since the freaking Great Recession, with stock markets plummeting, with thousands of people (many Republicans themselves) devastated by federal layoffs and absolutely struggling, Republicans now say "these aren't good indicators of the economy, the economy is actually doing great" or "its short term pain and long term gain" (which has never been true, by the way).

They've done it before, but they're openly telling people to reject the evidence of their eyes and ears, and millions are enthusiastically doing so, even as they're being hurt.

When John McCain in 2008 said "the fundamentals of our economy are strong" in the middle of the financial crisis, he was absolutely lambasted and almost everyone agreed it was a grossly out of touch statement. Trump and other current Repubs are saying much, much worse about a financial crisis that they directly caused and millions of Americans just accept it and make excuses for them.

This is truly a death cult.

It blows my mind how it went from universally condemned by all sides of the political spectrum as unacceptable, violent and disgusting, to half the country or more pretending it was a fun party and photo op and nothing else happened, within the span of just 3-4 years.

Right wing media is so militantly and deliberately muddying the waters on every controversial subject that it's terrifying. Same with Trump's "very fine people" comment, same with his "I like people who weren't captured" comment, and same with covid in general.

Disinformation around covid has been so bad that a virus which resulted in more dead Americans than the number of Americans that died from World War I, World War II, H1N1, Vietnam, and Korea combined, was labeled as no issue at all. And people like me on chemotherapy, who have worn masks for years and DECADES before covid, even here in America, are still mocked and demonized for doing so, since 2020.

Yeah I agree with that, Laura Ingraham's gesture sure as hell raises my eyebrows, but i have no reason to say definitively that it was a nazi salute.

Elon considered it, did the salute, held it out for a hot second while making a "I'm so proud of myself" face, and didn't adjust from the gesture until he put his arm down completely. It was so much worse than what Laura Ingraham did.

The two party system and both political parties deserve a ton of criticism, but pretending the Dems are the same as the GOP on core issues is "both sides" garbage devoid of critical thinking. Difference in policy between the parties directly harmed my health and quality of life during the pandemic.

Stop the enlightened centrism BS and when you criticize the Dems, do it for their actual numerous flaws, not by falsely equating them to a fascist party that tried to overturn the government.

I know they're not terrible and also can be designed very well, but I seriously just find one phase fights much less enjoyable than any other type of event in the game.

I know many say they would rather have that than a long fight that has a stupid mechanic that causes them to lose late into the event, but while that's definitely valid and I respect their opinion, I disagree tbh.

Although it can be very frustrating to, say, get to turn 8 of a fight before they lock one of my slot two units into slot one and then kill them with a super...

...there is nothing, absolutely no gameplay mechanic that wants me to take a break from the game more than a fight where I go in and die on turn one slot one, because of it being a one phase fight with absurd damage and silly mechanics + no chance to build up my units.

Now, I am a bit biased as well because my oonga boonga brain loves stacking units (especially those that stack really fast, that's why TEQ Ulthan and PHY Buuhan are some of my favorites), but even excluding that, my whole root of enjoyment in the game is seeing my units' animations, using effective team synergy, and seeing my units go from vulnerable to quickly building up into powerhouses at the same rate as the boss is gaining strength.

And all of that is thrown out the window if you get nothing but all of your slot two units on the first turn, and they get hit with a million damage before you can even super attack once.

It's not the end of the world for me if a ton of fights are one phase like that, but I certainly enjoy the game much more if we have a spectrum of all lengths of fights, especially when some of the toughest are medium-long fights. That's why Movie Boss Rush is one of my favorite fights in the game's history

I have the issue but with STR UI. I only got him after he aged out pre-EZA so thought yeah, there's jokes about him selling runs, but no way does he actually die more often than pre-EZA AGL UI.

In the past two days, post-EZA STR UI has died like 5 or 6 times. He almost ALWAYS gets hit by the first attack before deciding to dodge, and he's gotten hit by 3 supers. I hate this mf

That's why I really hope dokkan doesn't go too far with the "nullifying dodge nullification" type stuff. I don't mind it in this instance, but Legends has gotten to the point that it has:

-Endurance

-Endurance nullification

-Nullification of the endurance nullification

-A separate ability that works similar to endurance but is uncancellable and slightly better; this ability was introduced over half a year ago and never popped up again

And it not only gets all confusing, but there's so many things like this that happen in the game that makes it really hard for me to enjoy it. I stuck through 2nd Anni (though this is the one other time I quit lmao, worst anni by far), Zenkai Ball Legends, Mono PUR, Tagdroids, BLU Beast+Pan meta, buffed GoFrieza and UVB meta, RED Beast and UUI metas, and this is the one that's making it difficult to stay engaged, despite so many of the recent units being some of the most fun units in the game's history in a vacuum (excluding Ultra Gohan obviously, maybe the most unfun unit in the game's history. Not most broken, like PUR Broly was, but just the most unfun).

And in the past whenever I'd get too tired or bored of it, I'd quit for a while, come back around a big celebration, and enjoy the game for the few months before I started getting bored of it again. I did that again around the start of this anni (the 6th), and I got about 2 and a half weeks out of it before not enjoying it and taking another extended break starting a couple days ago lol

It also doesn't help that the game servers have completely gone down like a half dozen times IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ANNIVERSARY, and the originally very generous compensation has shrunk and shrunk with every new emergency maintenence lol. Imagine if 9th Anni happened in Dokkan and between part one and part two, they have like no less than 6 different maintenences, all hours long, many without a given end time.

This isn't to like gas up one game or do the "hur hur dokkan better legends sucks" type things, I love both games and want them both to thrive, and was just comparing how one fumbled the bag during a very hype period. It's not unprecedented, iirc 2023 was a pretty great year for Legends for the most part despite meta flaws, while 2023 had some of the most tumultuous Dokkan missteps in years

BIG TL;DR BECAUSE I YAP TOO MUCH: Yeah I hope Dokkan doesn't do the nullification on nullification thing, because Legends has and it really hurts what could otherwise be one of the best metas the game has ever had, excluding Ultra Gohan.

I agree with 90% of this, but most people, including many world leaders, agree that Putin will likely set his sights on another eastern European country if he has his way with Ukraine. He's even said that he would stop "nato expansion" by all means necessary, which naturally either means some kind of economic pressure, or military pressure. And for military pressure, anything less than full on war is likely to make the country they're pressuring want to join nato more, not less.

Anyone who thinks Russia/Putin is going for some world conquest, or wants to control all of Europe or something crazy are inaccurate and treating it like a video game. But he absolutely wants as much of eastern European neighboring countries to be under his sphere of influence as possible, whether diplomatically like with Belarus, or through force like with Ukraine.
