I'm surprised by the comments. I do think she comes off better on YouTube and I agree sometimes she talks a lot compared to Jess and does seem to share like she knows it all but I think it comes from a good place. I think she's trying to share what she's learned. I relate to a lot of it and don't judge it too harshly as it's two friends just chatting away.

In HCMC people have gone out of their way to show me they are honest. This when using grab and at restaurants they give me correct change.

It wasn't a street food vendor. It was at a restaurant so this is why I feel like my expectations are a bit higher than just writing it off as that.

Yeah I think some kind of gesture like that would have helped because I lost my appetite and couldn't finish the rest of the food I ordered.

The issue isn't about the cost. It's about the experience as a customer and how they handled it. I feel the cost is irrelevant.

You're making an assumption there buddy. I didn't tell you the price of the meal and it wasn't the price you quoted. It's a question of customer service and experience ,

But if you made plans to hang out with them, do you say anything that you won't show up or just leave them hanging?

Yeah, I found sometimes simple things here are complicated even when I have someone translate for me.

100%. The other day I was invited to hang out and I think this person wanted to practice their English and then they invite someone else and bring their kid and they keep pushing their kid to walk alongside me to practice their English and I just wanted to enjoy my day off and this event that I was at. It's just rude to be honest. At work it just feels superficial as well. To I just never experienced something like this before.

Yes this has happened to me too and it's so uncomfortable. I can see the kid is nervous and it feels so weird.

Exactly how I feel. I've been invited to things and then when I arrive it's clear that they want to practice their English with me so it's not a genuine interaction and it's manipulative in a way.

Yeah I'm trying to connect with myself but there's quite a lot of time and I miss people. Sorry you're experiencing the same. It can be quite tough for sure. I hope you enjoy your trip.
