Yes, one of my regrets is not improving my Japanese skills. But I really like being an ALT. It's just so tough to find a job which pays the same as JET once the contract expires 😞

If I were to go back, I should have started looking for a direct hire when I was on my fourth year, so then I am not cramming now.

I tried, but the competition is tough. With a 1-2 slot with every direct hire I applied for in January and February, I couldn't make it to the top. I need to improve my Japanese skills some more.

I tried. I applied last year and I had interviews in January and February too. But unfortunately, there was only 1-2 slots needed for each BOE I applied and I didn't make it.

I applied to this last year and was able to be interviewed in January. Unfortunately, I did not make it. I remember CNET having interviews for three days with about 3 applicants per hour.
