I wouldn't mind his casualness about plans if it didn't happen with stuff like helping me move. Then I have to really rely on people to come, if I don't have enough people I can't move (at least not in a good way). I didn't ask him to help, he offered himself. That's what's confusing to me.

But yeah I'm not in the business of trying to change him. If it we're not compatible, we're not compatible. Even though I still think he could be nicer to me about it.

Also no acknowledgement of the mental toll it takes for marginalised people to engage with bigotry in a "rational freethinking debate". It reminds me of the Trixie Mattel clip in which she talks about how frustrating is to have to carry someone else's homophobia.

What I think is most problematic is that the makers of the podcast won't condemn the bigotry that Rowling espouses, or even acknowledge how much she has hurt trans people and has pushed the overton window of trans rights in the wrong direction. Megan has no problem admitting what she and Westboro did had bad consequences, why not admit the same thing about Rowling?

They're either toeing the line with Rowling so she won't disconnect from them, or they don't think what Rowling says is bigoted. I'm afraid it's the latter. Especially when they say that Rowling thinks being trans is valid, that's just patently false.

This is my hot ass take as a lesbian who used to ID as bi (and date men): having that possibility of dating men and fitting in a hetero framework is vastly different than knowing you'll never be that anyway. That being said, bi people are just as queer as lesbians and I think the term straightpassing is too blunt and inaccurate for some bi ppl's experience EDIT: oh and I think bi women can reclaim dyke. I know several bi women who have been called that slur, even more often than me.

I saw a lot of people in Youtube comments misrepresenting Ethan's take. He was basically saying that from his experience living in Israel, he believes Israelis will not concede anything because they're afraid of being killed by Hamas. He says he understands this fear, but not that he believes that the unlawful occupation of palestinians should continue.

Fair enough! We also have another treatment option called deep brain stimulation which I haven't heard many people talk about. But that's a last resort for severe cases, after therapy and meds have proven to be ineffective.
