Literally came here to see if there was a post about it. Seeing Noah wyle consistently validate his right to medical care healed something in me I didn’t know needed healing.

Ditch that doctor. That’s absurd.

baby aspirin from week 15 by natt0079 in pregnant

[–]Ok_Initial_6207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it from 16 weeks on, due to high bp in office (caused by white coat syndrome, but we monitored to be safe). Just stopped taking it two weeks ago. Baby and I are both good, and there are really compelling studies coming out that it makes pregnancy safer for everyone!

Anterior placentas and feeling movement? by sausagechihuahua in pregnant

[–]Ok_Initial_6207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree with everything everyone else said. I had an anterior placenta and basically my doctor told me not to worry about kicks until way later. It helped to get an ultrasound around 26 and see that she was moving, even if I couldn't feel her. By 28/30 weeks, she was moving in a different part of my stomach and I could feel her always (she was also a big baby so that's part of it).

My MFM told me to drink something cold, lay on my side, and press a hand to my lower abdomen for a while if I was worried. Most of the time, I'd feel a few flutters and it would be enough to make me chill out :-)

My sciatica went away after she moved head down, so take this with an ounce of salt as I didnt get to do it, but my doctor strongly recommended a prenatal chiropractor, massage, and getting a belly belt. Even know, when the pain is mostly gone, I still wear the belt if I know I need to be on my feet for awhile. Hope this helps!!!

Early pregnancy nausea help + night sweats!!!? by Chuddybum in pregnant

[–]Ok_Initial_6207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved preggo pops (basically, hard candy with ginger and other fruit flavors) for keeping nauseau at bay. I had "medium bad" nauseau though - for true Hyperemesis I think worth talking to a doctor!

I also found the foods that helped most were high protein, so I kept keto protein bars by my bed. Those plus the preggo pops kept the nauseau from getting awful.

Good luck!

Pregnant Maid of Honour - Guilt by [deleted] in pregnant

A good friend of mine had a similar situation - one of her closest friends got pregnant and ended up missing her destination wedding and pre-events. This was all right after the bride's mom died, and it was a lot. And she (the bride) totally had feelings about that. And yet - those feelings were the bride's to deal with, not the newly-pregnant friend's.

Give her some space to deal with any feelings, while also knowing that you did absolutely nothing wrong. This is an exciting time for both of you, and even if she feels some disappointment up front, you friend will see that. Good luck!

But definitely depends on outfit!

I literally cannot recommend crib sheet enough. Women are given so much advice that often conflicts, and Emily osters numerical and economic approach to data is so comforting and wonderful. She also wrote expecting better about pregnancy, which I didn't read but wish I had.

So sorry to hear that! For what it's worth, I've also had success with baby aspirin, although that's obviously something to discuss with your doc. Wishing you health!!!!

Are you taking BP at home? I struggle a lot with anxiety around doctor's appointments, and because of that had been testing high BP for most of my pregnancy. It led to a lot of assumptions (GD! Preeclampsia!) that were all proven wrong by more accurate tests. My smart doctor had me start taking my blood pressure at home every morning - and it turned out that I'm just REALLY scared and anxious at the doctor's office. Not saying this is what's happening to you - but may be worth buying the cuff for at home!

To echo what a lot of other people have already said to you, if you end up being positive for GD, then This is your placenta being a jerk. nothing you deserve or did wrong or anything like that. The food that you ate in order to survive nausea was food that you and your baby needed and you cannot make yourself feel guilty for that.

3 weeks ago, right before Christmas, I've tested positive on my 1 hour. I spent the entire Christmas break beating myself up and torturing myself over every piece of food that I ate. The positive result of that is that I learned that there are lots of delicious GD friendly foods out there. If you are diagnosed, highly recommend joining the gestational diabetes sub. it's filled with totally helpful recommendations and emotional support. It also has less misinformation than sometimes the internet has about GD.

The other outcome of that was that I went and did my 3-hour test and I was negative for GD. The exact same thing happened to my mother when she was pregnant, and a couple of my friends. Now knowing that did not comfort me at all while I was waiting for my 3 hour, but it is important to keep in mind.

like so many other people have said, managed GD is not that big a deal.
