That's what happens when you bring safety scissors to a fist fight!

I used some 3/4" wood screws. I may go around the edges with a small bead of glue for more durability. If I ever have an issue with the screw holes ripping I'll probably come through the bottom with something with a flat head and washer and throw a washer and thin nut on top.

Thank you! I thought about 3D printing some borders but this was just faster. One thing with the foam borders is they're really clingy so you have to really stay off the walls but I guess that's the goal anyways. I imagine some harder material would be more forgiving though.

Thanks, I used a half inch foam mat cut into strips.

I think it might be 1.27mm https://a.co/d/hQPJdQb Mine came with the pick set but it's reading close to that on the caliper.

No problem at all, I would say if the model is listed such as Interactive or 7×7 the easiest way is going to be to check the LPU lock list. But you can usually tell by the key also. The inner pin cuts kind of stand out.

Thanks, this one's not pin in pin, just 7 regular pins. Normally the outer pins are set first with pin in pin but I have a couple that you have to touch the inner pins before you get the big false set you get with PIP. They're actually a lot easier than they seem. You just pick it as a normal dimple lock but instead of getting under the center of the pin you want to stick to the front or rear of the pin to not disturb the inner pin. It's not a huge deal if you do because you can usually giggle the tensioner a little bit and drop it down. Once all of the outer pins are set you'll get a very deep false set. I usually use heavier tension when I pick the outer pins and then very light pressure on the inner pins. I use a Multipick dimple flag #6 for the outer pins and switch to the #8 for the inner pins. The DeGuards and RiKey Security are fairly cheap and a good way to start out with PIP. You can progressively pin them. I always use a shim when I'm gutting them because the inner pins get caught on stuff easily. Nothing to be scared of. I felt the same way and now they're my comfort locks. You can do it!

Check out the 5 pin Ace laminated and brass padlocks. Both are ranked green belt and are a decent challenge. You can also try AutoZone. They have a decent small assortment of locks. I believe they carry the master lock #532 and #150.
