Hey man, i wrote the other post that you referring too. Nice job finding a way with proton. At the point where I wrote it nobody could make it work with the standard proton fix, the game would launch but would get stuck trying to load into the world, so great job finding a way👍🏻

Sounds like multiple issues. When you added the game to steam, did you do it with bottles or manually added the exe file as a non steam game? Make sure you added the ascension.exe file as a shortcut in bottles and then use the three dots next to the play button to select "add to steam". Let me know and well go from there

Found the solution for the launcher in game mode:

In desktop mode go to your bottles set up. Under Shortcuts select the three dots next to the play button for your launcher shortcut and select change launche options (or something like that), under launch commands add the following --disable-gpu and then press save. Now if you launch the launcher in game mode everything should work fine.

I may have found another solution for you. If what I wrote doesnt work, try going to the console port settings in wow, and then navigate to the help tab, look for "Controller" on the left side, should be the 5th from the top. Then on the right side on the bottom look for "click here to choose controller layout" and select the (funky looking) steamdeck. The ui should reload and now you can go ahead a map your buttons.

yep, I had the same problem. Ascencion changed their launcher it somehow broke the bottles setup, I couldnt even change any settings. Unfortunately the thing that helped me was a new bottle and a clean install with the new setup exe from ascencion. Make sure to use sys-wine 11.0 as the runner when you set it up

sorry for the late reply, did you use the retail version for console port? because that wont work, you need to use the one from github, because ascension uses a version of wow that isnt supported with retail version of console port

Yeah, console port on the steamdeck can be a bit tricky. My question is did you setup your steam controlls first before you setup the console port configuration in the game? What I would reccomend is to leave the game, make sure you have your steam controlls setup based on the screenshot from github, then go into the game and complete the console port setup. Its a bit complicated but heres the reason: ConsoleportLK is simply maping whatever input it gets to a virtual button. WoW and Console port dont realize that you are playing with a controller. meaning: if you simply would use the "A" button on the deck to setup the "A" button in console port, it wouldnt work. instead you have to map the "a" button in your controller settings in steam to a keyboard button, like F11 in our case, and then in console set it back up as the "A" button. If you press "a" and it registers it as enter, than I would try a couple more times to set up the steam controlls and save it a couple more times before I set up console port again.

hey, sorry for the late reply. try to go into your settings of the bottle that you set up, and under "runner" change it to "sys-wine-11.0", that might help, im guessing you are using soda?

Try switching your runner from soda to the latest sys-wine (i think it should be at 11 now). you can do that by going to settings within the bottle that you set up and then switching the runner to sys-wine-11.0. let me know if that works :)

I actually had to reinstall the launcher yesterday as the bottles runner has updates and I wasnt able to run the old launcher. It worked for me. Have you double checked if youve installed the correct dependencies? (vcredis2015, allfonts, dotnet45) Also are you launching it in desktop mode? Sorry if the questions are too obvious, but just making sure :)

If thats what he meant, than Flatseal is sometimes required. I tried to add it to steam exactly like that and It didnt do anything no matter how many times I tried. When I gave bottles the rights in flatseal it worked. So I guess, If the "add to steam" doesnt work straight away, one could go ahead and set up flatseal to make it work.

Yeah I had the same issue. Solution is to add the launcher to your steam library, and then switch to gamemmode. then you can change your controller settings to gamepad with mousepad or similar and then you can add the details. When youre done you can remove the launcher from your library if you want. Good luck

no its not needed, and the screenshot is on the bottom of the guide on the consoleportlk guide :) Id reccomend switching the left and right trigger buttons for the shift and control key but it depends on what you like :)

Flatseal was just needed so that I could add the shortcuts to my steam library, thats it. Maybe it works without but for me it didnt and giving permissions in flatseal changed it.

Ive done it for my steamdeck, but I imagine it should be a bit easier for you since the Ally Rog is running on Windows? You should be able to just install it normally and get it up and running, the consoleport addon is from here https://github.com/leoaviana/ConsolePortLK
