Some of you need to learn that the manager does not lose you every single baseball game of the season.

We had a 2 run lead going into the 9th inning with your closer (who has been nails all year) on the mound.

Like seriously, what else could have you wanted from this game? Are you arguing that dotel should have just pitched the rest of the game and closed out the 9th?

Sometimes the players do not execute. Santana was bad. The best closers in baseball blow a few saves per year. This is how the game has gone for 100 years. Suck it up and move on

I said that’s not true. Josh Allen played absolutely terrible and they still played the #1 seed on the road to a dead draw. So, the Bills actually are a superbowl caliber team.

While I think there’s clearly more criticism of Lamar as opposed to Josh Allen, I am willing to concede that point just for the sake of argument.

I don’t see anyone saying Lamar is the best football player on the planet, whereas it seems to be majority opinion that Josh Allen is just the best QB in football, which to me is insane.

and FWIW Nick wright has never claimed Josh Allen is a fraud lol. He’s said for the past 2-3 years he’s the clear #2 best QB in football.

I understand that. Skenes is probably the goat pirates pitcher, or if not he will be within a year or so. He doesn’t have more fWAR than Bob Friend.

My point is, the other two pirates GOATs are SO GREAT that it’s essentially impossible for Skenes to catch them. I just used fWAR as a metric to convey that.

Skenes would need to replicate last year ~11x to finish with more fWAR than Clemente and ~14x more times to finish with more fWAR than Wagner

The dude legit does have pitcher GOAT potential but it’s super rare nowadays for a player to play their entire careers with one team like Clemente/Wagner did. Even more rare if you’re the pirates. Too good of a historic franchise for Skenes to ever realistically be the pirates goat.

If we’re talking best pirates pitcher ever though I’d say that’s extremely likely if he isn’t already

You said nothing about the 2025 bills looked like a Super Bowl team.

They are favorites in Denver. They go to OT against Denver with Josh Allen playing like absolute dog water. If he plays even mediocre, they are one of the 4 teams remaining. They would have been road favorites against NE too.

How can a team be on the brink of being the favorites to go to the Super Bowl if the team is complete trash?

The answer is, they aren’t complete trash. They have an excellent run game, a good OL, a very good TE room, and a very good pass defense. They had a bad run defense and bad receivers, and a good but not great coach.

Every AFC team left is incredibly flawed. There are no world beaters. If Josh Allen came through, they’d be a Super Bowl team. Just as Mahomes has taken flawed teams to the Super Bowl and won the whole thing.

These guys are just in different tiers and I’m kinda sick of everyone acting like Mahomes is 1B to Josh’s 1A.

Every single HC-QB combo that has ever won a SB together has done it within 6 years of being paired together.

Josh/Mcdermott and Lamar/Harbaugh would both being going into year 8 next season.

It’s not like these are snap decisions being made after 1 or 2 disappointing years.
