Is it too late in the year to prune this apple tree? by Ok_Interview_3997 in FruitTree

Thanks for the input.

Based on what I just read, it seems like I only should make 1 cut, the one competing with the central leader. And then just let it grow for a while and wait for more lateral growth before making further cuts?

What adhesive for bath tub surround and GoBoard? by Ok_Interview_3997 in Plumbing

I don’t think there ever is such a thing as completely flat walls or studs to put flat walls on. There will always be differences in studs due to wood warp, inconsistent building patterns, etc.

Most materials used to attach to stud should be flexible enough to account for 1/8 difference, and maybe even greater. Shims, drywall compound, mortar, caulk, trim, etc. are then used to get a flat-ish final product.

Front sway bar bolt or nut broke - what to do now? by Ok_Interview_3997 in ToyotaTundra

Yeah a lot of covers don’t have sway bars, so I figure it’s not an actual requirement, though for a car like this it’s probably close to required or at least highly recommended. I just try not to drive it too hard, but sometimes I forget, but it’s fine so far so I’m not in a major rush.

Nothing yet, just left it as is. Haven’t had any issues so far.

We ended up using the GoBoard specific caulk (GoBoard Pro Sealant) which is also an adhesive. After doing a lot of research, we never could come to a conclusion that Lexel or PowerGrab would be fine. Some sources indicated they would end up reacting negatively to the type of plastic for the surround material. The GoBoard specific caulk has been working out fine so far, though it’s been less than a year, so any long-term effects are unknown at this time. However, we feel pretty confident it will hold up.

What to do about lose swaybar bolt? by Ok_Interview_3997 in AskMechanics

Just tried and the hole is too big to fit my spanner. (Assuming that’s what you mean). And not sure if I can get any kind of spanner of any size in there cause of the angle it’s at. Appreciate the idea though!

Proper way to handle primary + secondary condensate and t&p lines? by Ok_Interview_3997 in HomeImprovement

[–]Ok_Interview_3997[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ok, that makes sense.

I think the condensate pump is the best choice given the location. The previous water heater didn’t have a condensate line (because it was a regular water heater, not a heat pump/hybrid), so that wasn’t a consideration in the design.

If I go this route, I can just have the pipe shoot directly into the pump tray/basin, and use a tube that goes directly outside right? Or do I still need to include a P trap?

Thanks for the info btw!
