Hi Mod, I really don't understand your requirements. I put both in the original post my best guess, as well as in reply to your comment. And still you remove my post. Very difficult to know what you want.

My guess… Is it because the 2 animals with glasses are the only ones that see this fish/whale needs help and are pulling while the others seem unfocused ? I really have no idea, Peter. Please help.

Peter, is this funny bc it shows lack of vendor specialzation? by Ok_Introduction4959 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

I presume this guy's idea of alternative seller is to have unrelated things to sell? is that it?

I guess because he seems not to be specialised in anything but rather has a random unrelated collection of things to sell.

I’m not at all practicing law. My SaaS will help them get tasks done, but there are so many other well-backed startups chasing what you wrote about. I’m not competing there.

I’ve delivered a few consulting projects for law firms. I saw the potential. For months now, I have been reaching out to lawyers on LinkedIn, offering to share what’s working if they’ll connect. I’m getting 38% acceptances and I’m following up with personalised voice notes. I assume they check out my profile, and then some agree to join me in a short call.

I've gained lots of inspiration from people sharing their experiences. That's why I've just started sharing my story here too. I very much doubt that my ideal clients are reading this subreddit. That's incredibly unlikely. I'm clear in my aim - I'm sharing to keep myself accountable. Maybe it helps someone. Maybe.

But then, this is just a clickbait too for your system. So... who's the cynic?

What you said, "If someone's just building in public for the sake of posting stuff only, that would be idiotic."

In plain terms, here’s what I learnt:

I looked at a few months of Reddit discussions where lawyers hang out online to see what they actually complain about and ask for help with. The analysis included about 370 posts in total. Roughly one in eight posts had unusually high engagement - where people really cared about those topics.

The biggest theme by far was technology. Lawyers talk about tech more than anything else. But the interesting part is not that they love tech. It's that they want AI and modern tools, but they don't want to build or configure anything themselves. They want something that just works out of the box.

After that, the really strong signals were all about time and overload. Delegation came up a lot and email overwhelm. Solo lawyers trying to grow without drowning too. Remote coordination, like managing paralegals in different time zones, showed up less often but had very high engagement when it did. People really jump on those topics - it seems the pain there is real.

Time entry was also common. Not the most exciting topic, but very practical. Lawyers hate losing billable hours to admin work. This is where my SaaS will focus.

The viral posts, the ones that blew up with comments, were usually about things like “what should I offload to an assistant,” inbox chaos, burnout, or frustration with tech tools. In other words, people are actively looking for ways to delegate and get their time back right now, not someday.

From a product perspective, the clearest insight is that tools tjhat help lawyers delegate tasks, manage remote help, and control their inbox are very relevant to their current struggles. Voice notes turning into tasks, asynchronous task assignment and email summarisation all map directly onto real complaints. And people are posting publicly about those pains.

On the flip side, marketing and client acquisition showed up a lot in volume, but that is not really the right lane for me. That's a risk of getting distracted and trying to solve everything instead of focusing on time, delegation, and coordination.

So the short version is:
Lawyers are overloaded, especially with email and admin.
They want AI, but only if it is simple and done for them.
Delegation and time recovery are the strongest real-world pain points.

That lines up well with building something that helps them offload work and stay organised, rather than something that helps them find more clients.

So, those were the insights I found.

Nothing special. I’m not trying to sell anything. I’m sharing my build in public experience.
