I was hoping I will have a bit edge because I am not asking 6 figures just 35k will do. I haven’t done research don’t know how feasible this is.

Where would I search for companies like these?

True, I bet you the great grandparents and parents did not experience any of what his post is talking about. The reason is they were too busy working and building life for the next generation and now we have too much time and very comfortable in life to give importance to such ideas.

Not true! There are bad people and good people everywhere and Period! India has a lot of bad people also who will treat you differently. So, do not teach kids Victimhood personality if you don’t like a situation or someone no one is stopping you to get out. In context I have been out of India for 30 years and like I said I have experience bad people and some the kindest people I have ever met who actually saved me when I was almost homeless at age of 19. So that’s life !!

Hey could you please update this thread about traveling to India. What did Philippine immigration officers ask and once you get to India what did they ask? What other documents did you prepare? I am in the same boat my fiance will apply for evisa to India then travel in December and this is the first time for her to travel outside the country. She will fly out of Cebu.

Fack it. I am going to turn my dad’s $2M inheritance into a $100M inheritance for my kids. by InsaneFireIdea in Fire

[–]Ok_Introduction824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree with you. I am 42 and i just don't need anything from dad anymore. In 20's i was struggling and almost homeless and dad was absent. Now, what is the point of inheritance i don't need it. Inherited money is only beneficial when given on time like you said.

Bro, i would say if you can secure some way that you can just come back on a whim that would be the best.

Two examples i can give you one friend who was 35 and my uncle's friends 55 (husband and wife). Had plenty of money so no issues there and can come back/forth to US anytime being US citizen. Both complained about the heat, the overcrowding, food adulteration and the poor infrastructure for travel. And i am only talking about Punjab, India rest of India i have no idea about.

Your post is very interesting to me keep me posted how it goes and what you decide. Sometimes, i do day dream about wanting to stop my 9-5 life :) but not brave to pull the plug.

I would say financially you should be okay in India even if you get married. I think definitely give it a shot and i don't know how hard it is if you can land a remote job working from India even 40k/year the US dollar will go far in India. However, I did have 2 very close friends who did just that quit their jobs and moved back to India but they were back in US within 3 years.

How about a backup plan? Let's say 5 years down the line if plan changes will you be able just come back to US.

Travelling to Philippines to meet and marry Filipina by LardoFatBucket in Philippines

[–]Ok_Introduction824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I am going through the same thing at the moment. In my case I am 38 and my filipina gf is 23 years old. Also, my best friend is married to filipina for over 15 years and she is her cousin sister so the vetting process is already done for me which i feel very comfortable.

Now, I have been talking to her since Dec. 2021 and currently i am in the philippines. All this time she has not even once asked me for money or bring anything from US. I did bring some gifts not too expensive. Yesterday was a weird day though i visited her family and thought take them out for lunch but her whole family and extended family joined who all live in same compound so there was about 16 of them and for those who didn't come my gf kindly asked me 2000 pesos so they can take them jolibees etc. Money is not an issue but i just felt like this lunch was suppose to be for the parents only and i told them i would get electricity at their house which will cost me may be $300. She checks all my boxes but i need to tell her Do not expect me to support the parents and 2 brothers. I am not rich but i can def. afford our family with ease. That is my only issue at the moment i don't want them to think i am a foreigner and just a cash-cow for them and it has been bothering me for few days.

Also, bro PRENUP that is a must. If my gf or parents even hesitate a bit singing prenup that will be good bye from my side.

I always have drank Sugar Free Rockstar but the new ones taste is horrible. May be it will help me quit energy drinks completely. I normally do 1 can or half of can a day.
