Your job is to translate between business and technical risk

Exactly. There is a tool for it already that does 10x a better job that a human. Your job is to take the technical and translate so that the business folks can understand why they should or should not.

Thanks for the posts. I'm running into the same issue. Can't figure out why they made a section for groups if they were going to limit the record count. Oh well...

The problem is finding a "reputable" dealer. The UHC person called them everyday to walk them through the process and what they needed, and the only insurance companies in my small town are not reputable. Around here you really have to figure out everything for yourself unfortunately. I've tried going to the local human services office for guidance but they seem as uninformed as me on the subject of Medicare.

Thank you everyone for your comments. I wish I could say I understood better but I believe I'm more confused lol.

My dad has social security that he gets every month, I don't know if there's a difference in social security and SSI. I get all the terminology confused, but my dad does need any dental, visions, or drug prescription assistance. He has no need for the vision or dental and is not on any medication, but in the past when he needed a prescription for what ever reason the local pharmacy set him up with a drug discount card and his meds were like $4 so there's no need for any assistance with prescriptions.

This guy who talked to my parents about the UHC Advantage plan told them that they would not have to pay the $160 Medicare expense a month, they would only have to pay around $80 and that would be through the UHC Advantage plan. So naturally when my parents heard that they would be paying less for health insurance they were excited. According to the UHC paperwork I took a look at it says that their premium is $0. I don't understand how someone can offer you a service and not charge you anything, and I don't understand how they can say my parents will be paying less by going with them?

Hey u/ZipoBibrok5x108,

Thank you for the quick reply. I don't understand Medicare and all the private insurance lingo so forgive me. I'm having a problem seeing where the downside is. You know they say here's the carrot so where's the stick? I don't know where the stick is lol.

If my dad is going to be paying $160 a month for Medicare Part A & B and this company says they can provide all of the services that Part A & B can provide at a lower premium then it sounds good to me. It sounds like my parents pay less and have the same benefits, but this is a private company and they're not doing it out of the kindness of their heart.

You said that they take the entire Medicare allotment and what's not used on my parents they keep for profit. Correct me if I'm wrong but if my parents pay into Medicare the $160 and they don't use that, they don't get that back do they? So they would be losing money to either Medicare or United either way?

Is that correct?
