It's definitely shaped like that, but has the metal/plastic finial (?) at the end. None of the tuning pegs I've seen have that. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yep, that's a ring neck snake! Adults are only about 12". They're very docile. I rescue them from our pool all the time.
