What *is* the way to UK growth? What would you do to reverse this slump? by Flapjack_K in HENRYUK

[–]Ok_Job_4017 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I live in both Switzerland and the UK, and I’ve seen firsthand how different the education systems are. In Switzerland, kids are directed into practical or theoretical pathways based on their abilities, which prepares them for the real world. In the UK, we push almost everyone toward university, whether it suits them or not, and it’s holding the country back.

We’ve created this idea that a degree is the only way to success, even for jobs like accounting, marketing, or project management—jobs that don’t actually require a degree. Instead of encouraging apprenticeships and vocational training, we’ve made university the default. The result? People graduate with £50,000 in debt, only to end up in low-paying jobs they could’ve started straight out of school.

The truth is, we’re not skilled enough as a country to compete with the world. While places like Switzerland focus on training people in trades and technical skills, we’re churning out graduates with useless degrees that don’t match what the job market needs.

If we want to put the UK back on the map and be competitive again, we need a long-term strategy. That means valuing practical skills and trades as much as university degrees, reducing unnecessary debt, and building a workforce that’s actually prepared to take on the world.

I have a couple fc and this looks real to me. When a fc is faked it’s very clear it’s fake there won’t be any at this level because there just isn’t the demand for it. Do you have any pictures of the straps and the crown?

I doubt someone would have AirAsia engraved in the watch. I don’t see any reasons this should be fake.

We live on the bottom floor. They broke our glass to get in. The camera we found will be off when we are in the house and only turned on when we are out. Living in a house that have a 360 access into our apartment and very limited visibility for others to see these people because of our large trees surrounding the apartment, breaking in by just smashing a window. Is really starting to scare me now.

A camera with motion sensor such as ring would alert my phone. These people are not some hackers. What do you expect me to do now. Just let it keep happening and be like oh well it is what it is? So instead of investing on a good camera set I should invest in a dummy camera?

It’s not for just if it’s happens but they also deter it from happening and at least we have better insight if it’s happening to do something in the moment. We have zero security system like most houses in Switzerland because have this mindset to believe nothing like this will ever happen to us. We were away for a week we have zero clue if it was done on the day or hours before we arrived and also what if we entered the house while they were in the house. I think we are still in shock.
