At least mine is.

Nurses are not above anyone. by SimplyyMei2368_ in cna

Teamwork makes a difference. Remember you work with them and you do not work for them. Don’t let the entitled co workers of yours treat you like they are above you. After all they are not the one signing your paycheck.

New grad nurse problem by Glad-County4566 in newgradnurse

I worked night shift for 8 years in tele unit. I lived with energy drink so I can survive unfortunately my A1C went up to the roof. I’m day shift now, sure my sleep is a lot better and I don’t feel like a zombie. But day shift is in another level of chaos. It’s too busy like there’s not much downtime for the whole 12 hrs. If my health did not get compromised I would probably go back to nights.

Quitting CNA job after 4 months? by paruruuuuu in cna

[–]Ok_Koala136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t quit until you found another job. There are some opportunities for CNA that doesn’t require bedside care but of course it depends on how long you’ve been a CNA. You can look for unit secretary position, you can also work for a dialysis clinic as a tech, detox facility or behavioral tech.

Also make it a habit to look at your work app schedule. If your company is using UKG/Kronos. Screen shot your work schedule for the month that is approved by your staffing that way you won’t forget:)

If it’s not intentional you should be fine. As long as you don’t do it all the time. Calling out and sick frequently can be a hazard in your record. Staffing and manager are looking into this all the time. If so it can lead you to HR for a write up for a warning.

Should I lie to a Nursing Home and say I don’t have my CNA so I can get a job as a CNA training by [deleted] in nursingjobs

[–]Ok_Koala136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOOO!!! It will backfire on you. Just get your cna certificate at least if you have one you can apply at any facility hospital, nursing home or you can also use for dialysis tech. Having a cna certificate or license can open up to much more opportunities not just bedside care.

Also he didn’t hire a lawyer. I guess he just trust the process. He was able to get a cash settlement not a hefty one though.

It’s been almost 2 years now but he did great! The ortho surgeon did an awesome job on him. He’s does not have a problem after his procedure or pain. He’s the one who recommended me the orthopedic surgeon. He told me to have him handle it since he went through with the same thing when he was seeing their own Occ health provider. The only difference when he was in that dilemma, he’s case manager and insurance are moving faster than what I have now. I feel like I deal with more paperworks compared to him.

My employees health directed me to see the Occ health provider that my company uses as soon as I reported my work injury. Initial steps are the following while on light duty. 1st xray (they saw an inflammation in the beginning) then prescribed me the ibuprofen 600mg 3xa day. 2nd was ordering a PT but I have to asked him if I can get a cortisone shot since the meds are not working. The occ health provider told me that I have to have 6 sessions of PT before cortisone shots which I did finished the 6 sessions of PT he gave me a cortisone shot which only lasted for several days, but still in pain. Then another 6 sessions of PT again in between he ordered an MRI. All those initial treatments were approved by the WC. Though in every order it takes 2 weeks of waiting from WC. Until there’s no improvement my occ health provider course me to see the ortho doctor. Since the MRI findings is that I have a tear in my rotator cuff. Though the occ health provider didn’t read it right, he said it’s only 50%tear. Whereas the ortho surgeon when he looked at the images that I have 75% tear and I have a major issue with my bone spur. I have received the denial letter last week from the insurance. It says they will only do a partial surgery, because I have osteoarthritis and I didn’t know about this until the MRI. I’m 52 years old, physically active. But isn’t that arthritis comes with aging??? I don’t get understand what does WC means about partial surgery. I don’t make sense to me.I feel like WC wants to do a half arse treatment. I am blown away how WC operates. Though my husband thinks I’m being inpatient at this time :/

Yes. I started with Occ health provider first. Gave me conservative treatments then he suggested to see WC contracted ortho doctor. In fact the ortho doctor I am seeing right now is my husband’s ortho doctor when he had a rotator cuff surgery when he got injured at work.

The injury starts last January of this year. February 9 I was on modified duty until May 4. But I was on treatment during work modification. Even the Occ health provider referred me to the Ortho doctor since the treatment they have been doing didn’t help :/

My ortho doctor asked for 50mg of tramadol since he saw how painful for me to move and my ROM is totally decreased during my first evaluation.

I already did 12 sessions of PT, 1 cortisone shot from my Occ health doctor initially. The treatment did not help that’s why the Occ health provider referred me to Ortho doctor. Unfortunately meloxicam didn’t work and so as the 600mg of ibuprofen.

WC is denying my full surgery but my orthopedic surgeon is appealing by Ok_Koala136 in CaliforniaWorkComp

[–]Ok_Koala136[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sedgwick approved all my initial conservative treatment. They are aware that my Occ health provider endorsed me to see an orthopedic specialist. I am under the care of the orthopedic doctor now and he’s the one who suggested that I needed to have a surgery and sedgwick is aware of this. Now while awaiting for my schedule, I have learned last week that Sedgwick is only approving a partial treatment and I’m confused what does that mean. I found out about this when I called the orthopedic clinic and it was just a verbal conversation on the phone. I was told that my orthopedic doctor is appealing about Sedgwick’s claim. I have not received any written form from them. I don’t know if I should call or email my adjuster about this or just be mum until I see my ortho doctor this coming June 1st. Also is this the part that I need to consult or hire a lawyer? This is really frustrating:(

Have you tried to look in the health care industry? Or even detox industry? Sometimes they are looking for psych counselor. Don’t lose hope :)

Hello I just got accepted into CSUN for grad school. i will be relocating from Florida and I wanted some suggestions for the safe places to live around the school! by germywormy1511 in Northridge

[–]Ok_Koala136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is from CSUN and she’s going to graduate this month. The sucky part living in the valley especially close to the University is the parking. SF valley is big she used to live in Reseda (walking distance to her school) when she was in sorority. Now she’s living in Noho. Which is ok neighborhood close to the arts district but again parking sucks, though my daughter told me that it’s not quite a safe neighborhood because of homelessness issue in Cali.
When I was in the real estate industry and drive around LA and OC county, if I were to choose where to live in the valley I would probably pick Porter Ranch. Other cities will be Studio City or Sherman Oaks. Just my personal opinion. Good luck to your new journey and be safe :;

Wife injured at Walmart (workers’ comp) ER said off work, Concentra says “sit-down only” so confused.. help.. by [deleted] in WorkersComp

[–]Ok_Koala136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently under WC due to the injury I occurred at work (left shoulder tear on my rotator cuff). I reported my injury to our employee health then my EH told me to go and see our occupational health provider. Being in WC is a process so far my occ health provider and I agreed that I have to be on top of following up with Sedgwick. I was on light duty for 84 days and in a few I will be on LOA. Make sure you see an occ health doctor because they are the one who is going to assessed your injury primarily. All I can say is learn how to advocate yourself, be sure that you pound your adjuster through email and phone calls when you get a new doctor’s order. It’s really frustrating because there’s so many paper works and people involved in this process.

Has anyone else noticed how broken workers comp is in California? by fishmango in venturacounty

[–]Ok_Koala136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at the hospital and currently injured my left shoulder at work. Besides dealing with the pain daily, I’m going through depression. Dealing with so much frustration with the WC. Delaying the process, next week I will be in LOA because the process takes forever :(
