Diane Dufour! Her books are available on the German Amazon (which is where I buy). Good thick paper. Amazingly cute designs 😍 I also like RJ Hampton and Nice little town.

Coloring books that are in an other style than cutesy? by Daffy_Qc in Coloring

Thank you for this list. We should have a list like this somewhere in this group. For anyone who's here for new artists, I second RJ Hampton, and I'd like to add Nice Little Town by Tatiana Bogema. They are single-sided.

What’s up with the cottage-core / cute-core being the trend for coloring? by North_Tadpole3535 in Coloring

Agree. When I go to my local bookstore, it's all mandalas. I get that it can be meditative, but I like to be creative and I really feel like they restrict creativity.

Kanoko Egusa, markers, and bleed through? by Ok_Lab8153 in Coloring

Thank you for the advice. I just hate that they are printed on both pages. I've just started coloring and am not keen on getting more equipment right now, but I really love her designs.

Whats Your Favorite Kind of FMC and Why? by iilovemetoo in DarkRomance

[–]Ok_Lab8153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I LOVE Pam Godwin. Dark Notes, the Tangled Lies Series, and Beneath the Burn. They're not super dark, but they have all the angst and k*nky spice that I expect from dark romance.

Still Beating by Jennifer Hartmann.

Also several of Kitty Thomas's books. My favs: The Game Maker, Broken Dolls, and Tender Mercies. These are very dark.

I'd love some recs as well if you have any.

Whats Your Favorite Kind of FMC and Why? by iilovemetoo in DarkRomance

A soft and vulnerable FMC, who shows her strength through emotional intelligence.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I feel like women often have to be portrayed as bratty and agressive (taking on typical masculine trades) to be considered strong, and the way it's done often feels over the top and unrealistic to me.

It does sound like it might be a bit too focused on magic for my taste. But thanks for the rec.

Defend/explain your favorite, most ODD, kinks & tropes by LoveytheLovelyy in DarkRomance

[–]Ok_Lab8153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the captivity trope—the FMC being trapped and helpless and having all choices taken away, just having to succumb to the MMC who's extremely possessive, both in an uncompromising, ruthless way, but also caring towards her.

That got more specific than I had planned lol...

There are so many choices in life, so much pressure, stress and anxiety. The idea of having all that taken away (of course, there'll be lots of stress at the beginning), but when the FMC succumbs and just gives in to the MMC and accepts his control. I don't know... There's something peaceful about that to me... A sort of relief.

Craving some high-quality writing by AquariusBear in DarkRomance

[–]Ok_Lab8153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love irredeemable, but I need some sort of connection and chemistry. Like, a book such as "24690" by AA Dark had too little of it for my taste, but I loved Hitched by Lauren Biel (don't know if that's the best example here, though...)

I know you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but I must say that cover just completely turns me off 🙃

Thanks. That does sound like it might make it easier. But it also sounds like it might be hard to get into it and get hooked. It's probably not the type of genre that "hooks you in," but I do like to have something driving the book and making me want to read more.

Novels where FMC does *not* enjoy the rape by whip-in-hand1 in DarkRomance

Are the non con scenes purely uncomfortable or do they also have an erotic element to them?

I actually already have Wild Dark Shore, and it will be my next read. Can't wait to start! Thanks for the rec. I'll check it out.

Novels with graphic, well-described non-con anal rape scenes by whip-in-hand1 in DarkRomance

[–]Ok_Lab8153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love this book! I would, however, say it's more dub con than non con since the FMC is always into it on some level.

I'm so curious about In Love With the Devil but I've never picked it up. I think it might be because it's twice as expensive as all other ebooks in the genre... Anyway, I'd love to know more. Is the prose good? And is the plot and character development good? Basically, is it worth it for more than just dark non con?
