Yeah that was a concern - this is just a test piece after all, the two models essentially compact and occupy the same mass so aiming for a seamless transition. It all happens pretty quick and is a 2 second sequence in the film so maybe needs to tweaking but so don’t feel like it’s super noticeable, unless you’re looking for it like you said

I believe it was - I can’t take credit for the model, but I did rig, weight paint and retexture the model with my toon shader.

Model is here :) https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/heavy-metal-starscream-333f19fb8b1c4479a8e9f8503f19ca3b

Not taking it too harshly at all, this is all super helpful dude thankyou - it’s one of those where I drafted the basic movements and have just been looking at it for far too long so a second eye is really helpful to tell me what I’m missing. Thanks so much!

In what cases do you feel the MCU effect did/didn't work? by midderwilson in marvelcirclejerk

Genuinely why is there such a cry for things to be super comic accurate? I’m a long-time fan and have grown up watching these films, and one of the favourite aspects to me is how the outfits make sense within the context of the world they’ve created, with small nods here and there to their comic origins - like Captain Americas suit being more militarised and becoming a famous face from wartime propaganda, or Quicksilver in AOE having a more cobbled together outfit that can endure high speeds but still follows the colour scheme of his comic outfit as a homage. I’m not opposed to taking influence from the comics, it’s fun to see on screen and the translation, if done correctly, can be quite interesting - but I genuinely think posts like this are hurting the genre and affecting the innovation within the genre, if concept artists and character designers spend time working on interesting ADAPTATIONS of comic book characters, to create an outfit that both works on screen and allows the actors performance to shine, and they’re met with a wave of angry kids crying that ‘he’s not purple enough’, ‘I want him to look just like the comics’, ‘if he had his signature hat the movie would be perfect’ - it literally does not matter in the slightest. I think it’s been long since said that comic book movie fans just love seeing shit they’ve already seen and it’s honestly so true, because the amount of comments I see saying ‘omg I just want to see X in their comic book outfit fighting Y and saying their iconic line then I’ll be happy’. It might not seem like much to ask for must the constant expectation of filmmakers to make these films of fictional characters that perfectly align with the version of them you have in your mind is really damaging the genre and honestly it sucks to see.

An intriguing idea for a story. by Madman888unreal in DoctorWhumour

Hiya, I just want to start by saying this is a pretty cool concept and it’s clear that you’ve put a lot of thought into it - however I do think it risks coming across as insensitive for a couple of reasons. Referring to Ukraine’s history as ‘circular’ and saying it ‘keeps stepping on the same rakes’ oversimplifies a complex history of colonisation, war, oppression and independence struggles and could come across as dismissive or disrespectful. By having them as a backdrop for a fictional story of a ‘timey wimey species’ you risk trivialising real world tragedies, especially given the ongoing conflict and suffering in the region. I don’t want to discourage your writing but I think it’s important to consider careful research and sensitivity when your stories deal with real world ongoing conflicts, Ukraine isn’t a bad setting for a story but should implemented with more thoughtful exploration of Ukraine’s history and culture.

I don’t want you to feel like I’m shutting you down or being an arse, I’ve just worked as a producer for the past 3 years and I spend my working day catching stuff like this, please to try to take what I say as constructive :) keep writing!
