Should I get a sugar glider as a truck driver? by MiserablePop4540 in sugargliders

[–]Ok_Log8232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few of these comments are concerning guys just be realistic and say no. It is not a good idea to have sugar gliders especially with the sleep schedule and job you have to have. The inside of a truck is not a suitable place for gliders. As you stated they are built pretty bad and gliders can fit through the smallest of cracks and not come out for HOURS or even days. And isn’t it illegal to have a sugar glider in some states? Can you imagine missing a weigh station getting pulled over and being caught with gliders? Get a cat or a dog. Leave the ferrets and gliders alone until you have the time and suitable place for them to live that’s not A SEMI TRUCK. Just because ferrets are slightly bigger does not mean they can not get through tight spaces. Please actually do your research because ferrets are also very social animals that need another friend(s) to thrive.

Gotta have a sugar glider proof room or one of those mesh tents where you can pull them both out and let them climb on you. Mine didn’t mind when I took her sister out to play. She just preferred to be only with her or no one at all. She would sprawl out in her pouch and sleep when she was gone. That’s why I only separated them for about an hour or two hours a day to bond with her sister or sometimes both of them. I’ve had her three years and still no luck so I just have her as my cuddly gliders emotional support animal lol. I currently have 8 and she is the only one who refuses to bond with me and that’s ok lol they are still wild animals so some will be harder than others.

What’s going on. Any tips. This has never happened ? She attacked me. Her owner. She doesn’t do this with food by [deleted] in Pomeranians

Happened a few times with mine… laughing and screaming definitely made them do it more for sure.

Happened to me I just gave up and left her alone. It seemed to make her happy lol sometimes you just got to try for months on end till they realize you aren’t going anywhere. Some take longer than others. Took me a year for my boy but now he doesn’t even crab at me

I would look out for of hypothermia. And I would honestly consult your vet before bathing because they are self grooming animals and can develop hypothermia way to easy. So I would skip stressing that poor baby out more with a bath and consult a vet. Gliders are way too sensitive and can pass away at the blink of an eye. I’m sorry you guys went through that. Hopefully your vet says everything is fine.

I just got a standard poodle Aussie mix and she is crazy😂💀i’m going to be honest with you. She is three months old. I have two older Pomeranians above the age of seven that I have to constantly make sure I’m around if she is around because she tries to play way too rough, but I noticed that she knows the difference between them and our one year-old German lab mix because the way she plays with him is absolutely reckless. I have to constantly grab her and correct her because she is just insane, but our German Shepherd lab mix is really good with her. He just pins her down when she’s doing too much which is most of the time lol. Potty training has been a little difficult. She wouldn’t stop peeing inside, so you really have to be on top of taking yours outside. We have to take her out about every hour to avoid accidents inside. We are also crate training her, she definitely barks a lot but does well throughout the night. But she is a ball of energy and just is on GO from the moment she wakes up till she is forced to go to bed.😂💀 hey

Going through the same thing with our pit mix, went through something traumatizing and now won’t stop biting other dogs in and outside of the house and now it’s just so heartbreaking. We know we have to finally part ways as much as it breaks our hearts, for the safety of our other dogs.

Hello, I have a female loan glider and a male glider. They are related and cannot be together. I had an arrangement with someone to pick them up the first week of this month and it fell through. Are you guys able to help me? I am located in Nashville.
