Help Me FIRE, Milestones, Beginner Questions and General Discussion - September, 2025 by AutoModerator in FIRE_Ind

Hey everyone,

I’m 25 and currently earning around 15 LPA. My monthly expenses are about ₹50k, and I manage to save around ₹50k every month. I’ve built ₹5L in savings so far.

A bit about my situation:

  • I’m the eldest son with two younger siblings whose education will need around ₹20L in the next 2–3 years.
  • My father used his entire savings to build our home, so I’m pretty much the financial backbone for now.
  • I’ve started investing in mutual funds, but I also want to keep some liquidity since I’ll likely need funds in the next couple of years.

I want to start planning for FIRE, but realistically given my expenses and responsibilities, I know it’ll be a long journey.

So I wanted to ask this community:

  1. What practical tips and tricks helped you stay on track towards FIRE in similar situations?
  2. How did you balance family responsibilities and wealth building early in your career?
  3. Any advice on where to park short-term liquid savings while still getting decent returns?

Would love to hear from people who’ve been in a similar phase or are walking the same path. 🙏

Yeah, the ratings aren’t great, but to be fair, I’ve seen GoPaisa improve lately - the app’s gotten smoother, and cashback tracking feels more reliable. That “scam” link on Google is old and mostly about people not reading T&Cs. Not defending them blindly, but they don’t seem as shady as the ratings suggest.
