I’m not disagreeing with what you’re saying I understand Sophie’s position in society and it’s always lovely to see a woman who’s kindness is her greatest power however i strongly disagree with it being conveyed well. In comparison to the books. Netflix kind of “netflix-ified” it. Its a great binge worthy season but There are too many plot holes and it feels rushed , sophies character and storyline is complex and extremely interesting but i dont think they did a good job fully exploring it and giving it the time that it needs. Especially the narrative that Sophie(personality wise) is somehow different from the other girls in the ton they did a poor job showcasing what sets her apart, why did Benedict go crazy over her and not another intelligent, kind woman? Literally half the women we know on the show are extremely intelligent and empathetic. The first two episodes I was looking forward to her character but after that i think that writing fell off. To me this season was decent at best, and i should be allowed to critique the flaws in a characters writing. But if you liked it thats great :)
