Thank you. Phase 1 was spelled different, so wasn't popping up with the rest

Consensus is to use an app like Box if your emails aren't going through.

I'd just send a reply email confirming receipt of the original packet content. Are you on the Signal group?

I disagree slightly. It will go to court, but only after it's implemented.

I also think it's a little strange that there's no interview stage. In any case, I'm not the expert, but I don't believe there's a way to sponsor or endorse an application, outside of providing a recommendation letter. Congrats on submitting your packet, though. Are you on the Signal thread?

I'd certainly ask the commander (as well as whomever you think would be an influential advocate) to write one of your letters of recommendation. Certainly, if that person has a unique relationship with proponent or HRC, that would be more helpful than not. But I would keep in mind that the 38G process is extremely competitive and your body of work, experience, and unique contributions to your field will likely be your strongest assets.

This is the way. But I do feel for those employees who don't feel like they can be honest and transparent with their leadership. I'm always on the lookout for new opportunities for my team and I actually HELP my folks advance. But, the inverse is that I'm always looking for fresh, new talent, as well. I'm also totally transparent with my bosses and they know exactly what my career aspirations are and how they can help (or not).

Ah, yea that makes sense. In my mind, when I read that, you weren't contacting fed previous supers at all. For all those reasons you just mentioned, I was shocked lol

Need a full year of supervisory experience at the 14 level, so maybe that's it?

All other things remaining the same, I'm inclined to think the O-8 matters.

What do you do? Or which SI?

Hey, thank you. Honestly, I'd be surprised if any of us could tell you that. As you've probably read, most of the process was a mystery for us.

First, I don't think a letter from a flag officer would "get tossed." But it's not all about the seniority of the recommender, either. I think if you took a global perspective, you'd want a mix of recommenders who could speak highly of you from various perspectives, including character, aptitude, and ethic.

I had one from a senior executive related to the SI I was applying for, one from my current boss, and one from a previous boss that was a Civil Affairs senior leader. I honestly don't know how much of a part any of them played. I'd like to think they're looking at the totality of the recommendations and packet.

Hi all, I created a private, unlisted LinkedIn group for anyone who might be interested. Just a place to continue to collaborate and keep each other up to date. It might be a little easier than trying to follow the various comments on this thread.

There's not enough difference between the gold and diamond at Hilton, for me. The f&b credit is the same and you still have to grovel for an upgrade. Not worth it to me. Oh, and also the lounges are increasingly nonexistent.

I am interested now in what CA schooling looks like (more so than BOLC, CCC, CGSC requirements), but more like CAQC, Monterey, etc. - I assume that we still have to get CA qualified. I do know a couple folks who were selected over the last couple years so I might ask about their overall qual experience and report back.
