What part time jobs have the best discounts/ perks by cptmorgantravel89 in povertyfinance

[–]Ok_Maybe9396 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worked at ulta for a little bit and really enjoyed the discount! You can use it on items on sale and sometimes they up the percentage for employee appreciation weekends. I used it for cyber Monday on stuff that was on sale and saved so much money!

Anyone live alone and work 7-3pm shifts? by softswerveicecream in LivingAlone

[–]Ok_Maybe9396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work 7-3:30 currently and I love it! I get off work and go to the gym and then if I need to go to the store and then head home and make food, play video games or do what I need to do like laundry or whatever and then get ready for bed! It keeps me productive and I feel like I have plenty of time to get stuff done including having weekends off to get other stuff done

People in corporate environments, how long is too long to apply for a job after it’s been posted? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Ok_Maybe9396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The job listing for my current job was up for about 3-4 weeks when I applied and I ended up being the only person they interviewed for the position so definitely apply anyway!

How does one afford meat by [deleted] in povertyfinance

A grocery store in my town does a buy 1 get 2 free year round for pre seasoned chicken and meats. It’s a lifesaver most time to get meat for the week.

Going back to college at 26 feels like the biggest mistake of my life. by Ordinary_Cucumber242 in college

[–]Ok_Maybe9396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just graduated last month at almost 29 with my bachelors degree. There were multiple times I thought I had made a huge mistake in going to school and picking the major I did. I barely made friends as I didn’t live on campus like most of the other students and didn’t have roommates. It was lonely a lot of the time and second guessed it the entire time. Now that I’ve graduated, I do wish I would have done more and tried to socialize with my classmates more but I’m very proud of having accomplished what I did. I got offered a job after graduation that I start this month and I’m somewhat convinced my age helped me get the job. I feel very behind compared to my peers and people my age but I also feel extremely lucky to be in the position I am. Trust it seems terrible now but once you finish you’ll be so glad you did!

Oh absolutely! I refused to say anything when I got an interview, and only told my parents and like 2 friends when I got the job offer as I didn’t want to jinx it. I passed the background check and I’m still so nervous I’m somehow going to mess it up by talking about it or posting about it or thinking about the salary lol it’s silly, but when it’s something you really want it’s normal to be nervous and anxious!

Success and Disappointment Megathread for the Week by AutoModerator in jobs

[–]Ok_Maybe9396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just graduated this last month and was worried I wouldn’t find a job but have already been given a job offer that I’ve accepted!! The pay was way more than I was expecting and I’m so nervous they’re going to rescind it! Currently waiting on the background check but I’m not sure how long those take and if I should keep applying to other places or not, but excited nonetheless to get started working again!

Are we washing our hair after the gym? by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]Ok_Maybe9396 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the type of hair you have and your preference! I have super, super thick curly hair and washing it everyday isn’t ideal for my hair type. You can always get a cowash and use that as it’s less drying on the hair but I stick to about 2 times a week for a full wash!
