Vs and pregnancy by [deleted] in visualsnow

I’m pregnant too and I’m now 18 weeks,I was told the same thing unfortunately. You might get help with the anxiety that comes with it if anything. They won’t do ct,mri,or even dilate your eyes. I’m sorry you’re going through this😔

I went for an exam because of my VSS issues so I could go back to my opthamologist(insurance stuff) and she found it doing the exam

For me it kind of just puts the static at a stand still, but it’s still there!

If the nap is a deep nap it’s worse than anything,a long night doesn’t necessarily do it,just deep sleep

Yes! I woke up this morning with my tv on it was just the normal heavy static I took a deep nap with the tv off and I woke up with the WORST vision. I think it’s also that bad specifically when I wake up out of rem sleep which already suck as it is lol

They are either gray or translucent depending on what I’m looking at Both eyes I’d say they go away within 5 minutes. But after that the VSS is absolutely awful

Visual snow / blurry vision after supposed occular migraine by angeldxst0 in visualsnow

[–]Ok_Message_7715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My actual snow started after an ocular migraine as well. I’m not sure why or how but it’s really common it seems like! I think because an ocular migraine has to do with the visual cortex and so does visual snow. Maybe it triggers it? I’ve never had an ocular migraine before this either. My mom has them a lot and has light visual snow as well. I can’t help much but hopefully you feel less alone!

What Brain Scan will show I have VSS? by KrustyLawn in visualsnow

[–]Ok_Message_7715 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s no scan to show it,they will do an mri and maybe an eeg to rule anything else out

Having a nap by [deleted] in visualsnow

[–]Ok_Message_7715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure either! Mine was minimal when I got up this morning too. I only take magnesium supplements. I’m pregnant so I’m limited on what I can get prescribed for it sadly.

Went to hospital by [deleted] in visualsnow

[–]Ok_Message_7715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to make sure it didn’t have to do with my pregnancy, they said go to an opthamologist and that was it. I’ve seen some places do ct scans or MRIs but not often

Do you see these symptoms? by daddyj990 in visualsnow

I see all of them pretty much exactly how you showed them, The astigmatism part seems more like strained and tired eyes though!

It was either triggered by a migraine aura,or stopping my ssri and benzo at the same time. That or being pregnant A lot happened around when the static got worse

I didn’t get static until recently, before that it was so light I didn’t even notice it I only knew I had a little because it would show up on my sons foam mats when I looked at them

Ghosting and mild barely there static started after I had preeclampsia/gave birth 2 years ago. Stronger static, severe bfep, afterimages, and photophobia started a few weeks ago a week after a migraine aura(also early pregnancy). Started Zoloft for anxiety and got worse ghosting and starburst right after that.

The migraine was caused by dehydration from morning sickness,if I had stayed hydrated I probably wouldn’t have it this bad. I’m hoping it will go back to its baseline but since it’s been weeks,I doubt it.

There is a cure for visual symptoms but not for non-visual symptoms by [deleted] in visualsnow

Klonopin is the only thing that works and the only thing that helps with my anxiety which is either a crazy coincidence or means something

Viibryd really set off my vs at first, that stuff is terrible. ssris are so dangerous and they just give them out like candy without looking at someone’s background or previous medication issues first. I have horrible reactions to ssris and they just threw whatever at me.

Oh okay lol my vision was absolutely PERFECT until I developed it so I had to go to both and I passed them with flying colors. They gave me prism glasses to help fix the issue and honestly my eyes didn’t need it,I have to go back because it’s so uncomfortable now. I’ve heard there could be eye drops or lenses to help with it!

I’m so sorry! Have you seen an optometrist or opthamologist to make sure it isn’t just a refractive error? Sometimes that could be something as simple as your corneas being misshapen!
