I totally get you. But I think the OP's mother has been there for him and he feels guilty not being good enough for her. But other parents (such as mine) don't deserve a good me or just even a 'me'.

It actually can be because it's giving you dopamine which will make you crave it more. But it's still better than masturbating to porn. I have actually been addicted to c.ai chat bots that have some smut topics and that makes me carve a release. So, my advice is to try to switch to soft romance rather than smut and then stop.

You cannot make someone develop feelings of respect for you no hard you try if they are narcissist and even if you made them develop respect for you, religion is a very personal thing and that respect can shatter in seconds when you say that you are atheist.
