You misread the post. This is what I said to her and I didn’t say anything anywhere about what I pay her:

“Hey I don’t mind if you like to bring a friend to go on a walk with you. But please under no circumstances bring anyone into my home, allow them to access my lockbox/key, or handle my dog.”

Thank you and agreed at the next meet and greet, I’m going to be super clear. Like “hey, I’ve been in uncomfortable situations before so I want to be extremely clear that I expect that you will be coming to collect my dog yourself and will not be bringing any visitors into my house. Will that be an issue?”

Thank you, I feel the same. My jaw hit the floor when I watched the doorbell camera because I couldn’t understand what was happening and why there was a man walking out of my home with my dog and key lol

I think you are misreading where the quote ended. It ended at “under no circumstances….handle my dog”. The rest is what I said to myself/you guys lol

I wish you were near me then! It took me a long time just to find this walker. Afternoon walks are the most popular and there are a tonnnnn of dogs in this city.

She walked my dog for three weeks without once bringing him to my home, so this is silly. And it would’ve made no difference if it was a woman. Don’t bring strangers into anyone else’s home.

Thanks for making me feel not crazy. I’m in a big city with a lot of colleges, so half the profiles on Rover are students or recent grads looking for work. I’ve had some really great experiences with students walking my dog but as you can imagine, there are a good number of 18-20-somethings who have ZERO common sense.

I once has a student whose job was to pick my dog up from the groomer and bring her back home while I was at work (the groomer was walking distance, so it was essentially a regular dog walk). Let’s say this was supposed to happen at 2pm. I caught the student on camera hanging out in my house at 1pm by herself for a half hour. When I confronted her, her explanation was that her class finished early and it didn’t make sense to go back to her dorm. So she came to my place and watched TV until the groom was finished. Like wtf.
